My local hose supply shop is changing the kind of hose they are selling. Gone is the Goodyear stuff that lasts awhile and they are getting in OEM stuff from China. Now I have to decide on getting lesser grade pressure hose that may burst in a month or the very expensive stuff that is supposed to last forever. In fact the last two cheap single braid I bought both burst after a few months.
Here’s a poll to help us see what members are using, it may be of benefit to more than just me. Thanks all for participating and any comments are much appreciated.
One wire braid rated for equal psi to my pressure washer
One wire braid rated for more psi than my pressure washer
Two wire braid rated for equal psi to my pressure washer
Two wire braid rated for more psi than my pressure washer
Can someone please ask @Innocentbystander to vote on this poll? Sometimes I think he’s too cool for school and the poll but I am sure he is just chilling out in his poustinia hut in the woods.
@florida_condo_cleani am I right in guessing that you use hose rated higher than your machine’s psi because you simply want the hose to last longer and nevermind the heavier weight of said hose?
I like the Goodyear myself, but it is a little more expensive. Just like the smooth cover on it. But I will say that I’ve been pretty happy with the hose I got from Envirospec that I bot for that townhouse project for the price. It was on sale for like $127 with the QCD on the ends. 100’ 4000psi 1 wire
I was using Suttner 1 wire until I had two hoses break on me in the same night. Then I order this 2 wire. My first time around this stuff. I feel like I’m dragging around lead weights. I’m on my second day and it is getting easier. Still debating if I should go back to a higher quality 1 wire such as good year.
I bought 100’ of the crappy Simpson hose because it was cheap. Later I bought 100’ of 1 wire off Craigslist for $50. Unused and has a swivel built in. I aboslutely love it. I’ll be pretty picky next time I purchase hose.
I use 1 wire rated at something but can’t remember the specs. Call United Hose and they will tell you. 250 ft for about $270. Root canal today and full of hydrocodone because I’m a big baby when it comes to pain. Didn’t notice your poll. That’s what she said.
I will. Rest assured I would drop in at no charge to experience south of the border hospitality and the American Dream. I am an admirer of the U.S.A. one of the non-jaded northerners who has always wanted to visit you guys and share in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.
Yes I don’t mind the extra weight . I like knowing I’m probably not going to blow a hose near some little old lady. Half the places I work are 55 and up community’s
