Hello All,
I’ve got a couple of very “irresponsible” neighbors to say the least. Revving engines and burning out all the time in the alley, unfortunately I called the police nothing I can do unless I get them on video.
Figured I’d check with you folks here, any way to remove deep burnout marks / rubber from paver bricks? The brick faces are black about 20 of them. They left marks directly in front of my garage, and quite frankly its an eyesore. Can I sand the face down or is there a solvent that might work for these? Really appreciate the help guys! My other option I thought is to flip them all upside down, but not sure how hard this will be with already placed bricks / also bottom side may be discolored.
@Innocentbystander will know what to do. You cant flip those, even if you got one out. The bottom is not beveled at the edges, they are squared. I wonder if hot water is the cure.
Trick I learned years ago. When someone parks so close to me at the store that I have to get in from the passenger side I get a small pebble and put it under the valve stem cap and screw it on till I hear a slight hiss. I’d be doing this to the neighbors lol
Also I always park about 4 spaces minimum from the “congested” area of parking.
About the valve stem? No I’ve actually done it once! I was in the back forty at lowes and a guy in a rusted out spray painted cavalier parked literally inches from me! No one on his other side either! He inconvenienced me so I returned the favor! It doesn’t hurt a thing! They have to call a buddy to bring them a pig tank.
As long as it goes flat before he leaves the parking lot he was inconvenienced at the least. If it didn’t go flat before he left it could have blown out and killed anyone. Not just him. Seems like to much of a risk.
When my wife was rushed to the hospital for our first born to give birth I parked like a jerk and sprinted inside to meet her. When I walked back out the next day this was under my wiper. I was very much parked like a jerk!
The Wire brush (a grill scraper) is having trouble getting the rubber off closer to the original burnout marks. Should I try a wheel wire brush insert that goes on a drill for that instead?
How about a strong solvent like laquer thinner or methyl-ethyl keytone? Get a spun fiber stripping pad from a paint store. It’s like a really aggressive scotchbrite pad. There are various “grits” like sandpaper. Try a few. The wire brush is too likely to leave scratches.
Thanks man, but where do you buy this stuff? A lot of these are so hazardous you cant ship. Is there anything I can buy thats reasonably priced in a small quantity?
That looks like some good stuff but it doesn’t ship to California. What are others issuing for tire marks? I have hit and miss results with ebc and hot water. I’m assuming something meant to dissolve tar should do it.
