Not impressed/confused Whisper Wash 16”

I have the Pressure Pro 4/4000 belt drive with Cat pump. Bought the Whisper Wash Ultra Clean 16” today and I am confused with the results being it’s a Whisper Wash. I had 25025 tips on there and it was taking the cream off the concrete so I moved down to 25030 tips and still the results were less than ideal. Can anyone shed some light on this?

How many feet of hose? Even with 3’s you’re probably still putting out 3500 psi. you need to be around 2200-2500 psi

100 feet of hose.

Yes sir @Kps0410
Did you wet the drive before washing it?

Yes I did. Looks like I didn’t, but I was just testing it out in a couple areas. What tips do you guys recommend? Looking at the chart I am dividing by two because of the spray bar with two tips.

Based on the chart am I running 1750 psi?

@Patriotspwashing runs a few 4 gpms. If I remember Right

I have that exact machine and exact surface cleaner and run the stock tips that came with it. Never had a problem.

It doesn’t look like your taking the cream off…it looks like some areas are still dirty. I may be blind though.

Never had an issue with concrete, but don’t wash any that’s not at least 2 years old.

That’s what’s got me confused. I was surprised as heck to see those lines. Especially since my Hammerhead doesn’t leave any… any help here? Go back to the 25025 tips??

Moving too fast? I had some issues with the same setup, had to slow down some. I can move faster with my new 5.5/3500.

I still get some stripes on smoother concrete but post treating per other’s advice seems to fix it.

I’m gonna say it. Pre-treat. Clean. Post-treat.

(The 4@4 needs the help)

Also, 25025’s are perfect for that set up - I do lots of flat concrete work and the 25020’s give too much pressure.

The concrete must have already been torn up before me. When I flipped the WW over I saw the typical sand particles under the housing. So the consensus here is 25025 tips? I always post treat but these lines here are worse than my 20” Hammerhead before post treating.

Bear in mind, whatever tips you put in - the 16” and the 20” are different beasts.

The smaller unit will be much more aggressive due to the diameter being less than the 20”. Staying in one place with the 16” will clean harsher than the 20”

Therefore, you can walk faster with the 16” than the 20”.

Not everyone agrees, but maybe try the pre-treat method here. I find the mold browns off, lifts easier and there’s no lines afterwards. If there are a few, the post-treat takes care of that.

You have to modify your cleaning to the surface. Not all concrete is the same, so with this, the pre-treat will definitely help over pressure/multiple passes/harsh post-treat.

I was moving decently slow. Obviously a tad faster than the 20” Hammerhead.

Thanks for the ideas. Just dumbfounded at the balance of speed/slowness to keep a consistent clean and not staying in one area too long and still stripes.

I’m waiting for someone to comment on your technique…

Is the main issue here that I am at 1750 psi with the tips and it’s not cutting through here?

1750? I think (know) you should be 2500psi up to 3000psi maximum.

Stay with the 2503’s or go up to 25035 I run the 2503 in my 20" with my 4gpm and never had a problem… You didn’t take the cream off, none left on it hardly in that pic

Obviously I overlapped a tad more than usual to try and prove that whisper wash are supposed to make the Hammerhead look like chump change!
