New Member Introductions

Hi there, Mark here from New Zealand.
I’m new to posting here but have been browsing this site for about 5 months now. I started buying equipment 4 months ago and at the stage where I’m now getting a few jobs per week. I would like to say it was an easy start, but nope… certainly had a few equipment issues along the way.

Anyway, glad to be here. I’ll be asking for some help shortly on another topic about the correct chemicals to use on a high spec job.

Welcome.

You may experience some issues with laws or shipping that we do not face in the U.S. or Canada. There are several other members from that area on this site.

good luck to you. You must be smarter than the average bear, you actually read stuff before starting, which puts you lightyears ahead of some others.

Howdy - My name is Christian and I am located in San Antonio, TX and just officially launched Nov 2025 - GI Power Washing, LLC (GIPW). I’ve been watching a ton of videos but got tired of 1% of actual useful information.

Before I post any specific questions, I am going to dive into all your available topics as I am sure someone has run into the same things. I appreciate this forum and glad you guys established it.

Hey everyone,

I’m Kelly from the Charlotte, NC area. My username is Cigol (logic backwards). Not my best decision, but I’m rolling with it at this point.

I’m a newer entrepreneur and still early in the trade, but I’ve been reading here for quite a while and have taken part in a few discussions. I’ve also had the chance to talk with a few members one on one over time, which has been helpful.

I got started toward the end of the season, but it still gave me a clear picture of what I’m up against and where I need to improve. There’s a lot of solid, practical knowledge on this forum, and I’ve picked up more than a few things just by paying attention.

Looking forward to learning and contributing when I can. I appreciate the community here.

Hi all, my name is Ben and I’m starting an exterior cleaning business in Portland, Oregon! I started a couple months ago with just window and gutter cleaning, but I’ve added pressure washing (using my brother’s 2.5gpm machine, so looking to upgrade ASAP) and am thinking about adding soft-washing services as well. I’m not sure yet that I’m going to stay in the industry long term to be honest, as I’ve got some other avenues I’m considering, but I definitely am looking to give it a good shot for the next year or so, and am liking it so far. Glad to be a part of the forum and learn from all of you, and looking forward to collaborating in the future!

Hey everyone,

I’m Tim, one of the owners of Grind & Shine LLC out of the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. I’ve been lurking for a while, and this forum has already been incredibly helpful.

I’m excited to officially join the community, continue learning, and contribute where I can. We do a mix of pressure washing, soft washing, roof cleaning, concrete cleaning, and stump grinding.

Looking forward to connecting with more of you, sharpening my systems, and becoming a better operator thanks to everything shared here. Appreciate being part of the group!

Hey all, my name is Joshua and I am a minister in Cookeville, TN. I’m 25 with a young family and am trying to put a small business together so I can supplement my salary enough to do things like pay off some student loans and have another kid. I already have a full time job that I love, but I am looking into doing some fleet washing or equipment washing in this area. Hopefully I can pick up a few regular customers and do 4 or 5 jobs a month. I still want my family to see my face every day hahaha.

We run a Vermeer SC292.

Honestly, we ended up with it because we found a really good deal locally, but it’s proven to be a solid size for us. It’s compact enough to get into backyards but still has plenty of power to handle most residential stumps we run into.

Sure, a bigger machine would increase production speed, but we don’t do enough stump grinding year round to justify the higher purchase price.

For where our business is at, it’s kind of the sweet spot between capability and cost.

that is a nice small unit, it looks like it would fit in a fence gate. Thinking about renting a grinder for a couple in my yard/field, about $300 a day. Almost bought an attachment for my tractor but I thought I’d only use it once or twice.
