Continuing the discussion from New Member Introductions:

Hey there guys and gals! My name is Joey and I’m from St. Louis MO. I’ve been debating starting up a washing business the last year or so and doing my due diligence in trying to be prepared as possible once I get the ball rolling. I’m new to the industry but am a quick study and love to work outside and chat up customers to upsell, I used to be in the restaurant business so upselling and customer service was a huge component of that. Thank you in advance for all of the knowledge that has already been shared, I can tell this is a great community trying to really help each other out!

Now that I have my first child on the way, it’s kind of lit a fire to get up and get going and solidify my plans! As far as my set up, I’m picking up a trailer this weekend with some very lightly used equipment, but it has room for upgrades which after a year or so I plan on doing. I’ve got the administrative paperwork stuff out of the way, just working on getting my website up and rolling, and start advertising/marketing. Plan on doing a lot of yard signs and door hangers when doing jobs, and expanding from there.

Thanks again for all that you’ve already provided, I look forward to interacting with all y’all!

Ps. I know what the search bar is

Hey all and happy Friday!

My name is Sean and I’m located in between Austin and Houston, TX. I’ve been in public sector management consulting for the last 6 years and am in the process of being bought out by my partner and leaving that business. While I worked with some amazing people and had great experiences while growing that business to low 8 figures, my personal life/marriage and health had been on the decline due to the perpetual 60+ hr weeks and hit rock bottom during the 2023 holiday season. That wake up call led me eventually led me here. I’m starting a pressure washing and home services business with my brother-in-law who has an established mobile detailing business in the area already. My first business was in commercial janitorial where we pressure washed for clients and I’m looking forward to getting back to working in my local community. I’ve been lurking for the past 3 weeks and have already found a wealth of information. I also look forward to engaging with you all on here!

I hope I am completing this step correctly if not apologies in advance.
Happy to be here and interested in furthering my education and understanding of the craft. Currently semi-retired, as in I work when I want and agree or decline various repair and maintenance needs as they arise. In my prior career I managed restaurants for about 40 years in the role as a GM and developed a few skills that saved loads of money and kept my place in step with the ever changing priorities of both home office and government agencies and their subsequent inspections. So I have a keen understanding of what needs to take place in a post haste fashion and what is simply “when the time is available”. I find this type of work both rewarding in completing a job that corrects a problem and taking pride in how the results improve the work environment for a staff who grind out the job day in and day out.
I keep fairly steady work at a half dozen full service restaurants and focus on tile/grout repairs, windows, assorted handy man tasks and the routine pressure washing that takes place. Hoping to gain insight into methods that save time and money but at my age I am not aiming to grow my client list.

Hello everybody. Ive been lurking for a week or so trying to learn as much as possible before buying anything. I am looking in to power washing as a side gig to earn some extra cash in my spare time. I live in Central PA in an area that I feel has a potential market that is under-served. I appreciate all of the great info youre all willing to share so guys like myself can learn.

My name is Jason, 38 years old and live in British Columbia, Canada. As with others here I am looking at starting a pressure washing business. Trying to read as much as I can here, or watching how to videos on the youtubes. I have pretty well no expereince so it’s kind of a guess as of now if will like this industry. What drew me to pressure washing is customer service, seeing immediate results, building somthing thats mine, last but not least the money seems good. Everyone here seems like they are from the US but if anyone wants to shoot me a message feel free, open to any suggestions for gaining expereince starting out. Hoping to learn as much as I can before I take the leap into the “abyss”. Not sure how much info I need before I will feel confident so ill keep grinding.

Thanks for reading my peice everyone!
