Welcome!

Hello everybody, I’m a 20-year-old college student out of Western Massachusetts. Last summer by buddy was pressure washing friends and family’s houses, and eventually got burnt out and I took over late in the summer. I’m ashamed to admit we were the guys showing up to jobs in flip flops pulling two 2.5gpm 3000PSI Ryobi with extension poles out of the back seat of a sedan. No chem, all pressure. As soon as I took over, I started to realize what this business could become and started soaking up the knowledge you guys have graciously shared. I’ve since purchased a truck and all the equipment I will need, except for the washer itself because I’m saving up to buy a 4gpm belt driven machine which I will buy before I start in March. Until then I will keep reading and taking notes from this forum.

Hi everybody! After 2 months of lurking in the background and spending hours reading I decided its time to join! I am starting a new company this spring in central MN, focusing mostly on residential. I will be doing this part-time with a goal of one job/ day during the week and 1-2 on weekends. There are only two other companies in my fairly populated area and so far I’ve had really postive feedback and already have jobs lined up for spring doing zero advertising. I have been purchasing equipment the last couple weeks and will be starting my trailer build shortly. Thanks to all the great information on this forum I feel confident entering the industry on my own and without it I’m not sure I would feel the same. I am looking forward to getting more involved and sharing my successes and failures (hopefully not too many) in the future so others can continue to learn and be inspired like I was.

Welcome Scott. Glad you’re here.

Hello fellow members!!
I’m very far from you: Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.
Found this forum amd am imterested in learning about pressure washers.
One month ago I founda dead Karcher k3.98 at my mother’s house. Took to the assistamce, nice guys, had a great talk, he explained some basics about gpm, psi, max hours of usage. Them I realised that mom’s machine was below the requirememt for her big house, when all her 5 childrens lived there 30 years ago.

Mom’s refractive to comtractors, so exterior areas were not exactly clean.

Since I’m about to move from my apartment to a house near her, I have acquired a second-hand little usee Karcher. HDS 7/11-BR. Using hot water really helps takin out thosse dog law marks from her ceramic floor. Best result after using a very dilluted LM agromachine detergent, rubbing it with the floor polisher, then rinsing with hot water: new-looking floors

Hello Party People!

I’m starting my pressure and soft washing business this month on a part time basis in Jacksonville, FL. I used to do pressure washing in high school and left it behind once I went to college and followed the corporate life.

I’ve currently a digital marketing director for a large online marketing company. After years of creating websites and doing Google Ads and SEO for other businesses I decided I wanted to do this for a business of my own. I’m lucky enough to have a full time job but would love to be able to step outside of the corporate world and go FT with PW. I’ve got an enclosed trailer, 5.5gpm 3000psi, 100 buff, 50 SH, 30 Soap, SW Setup and other things here and there.

I’m going to be focusing on building SEO for my site (can take a 6 months to a year for page 1 rankings) and creating a good experience for my customers from initial call to getting that 5 star review.

I appreciate all the advice and tips given on this page and hopefully will be contributing a lot in the future!

Hello all I am from the Upstate of South Carolina. I work a full time job and was wanting to get into this part time. Not sure if pressure washing or soft washing is best way to start. I have looked at the Mudd dog pressure 8 GPM washing rig and also the duel blend soft washing rig from Southeast Softwash which comes with a 4GPM pressure washer and a surface cleaner. Both in the end would be the same price if I added a soft wash system to the Mudd Dog rig, my question Is the Mudd Dog units soft wash system is pneumatic. I have read a ton of stuff and have seen many different opinions

Good Deal, I am thinking about getting started in pressure washing / soft washing. I am looking at the Mudd Dog system and adding the soft wash unit or South
East soft wash rig which comes with 2 soft wash units and a 4 GPM pressure washer he said if I want an 8GPM I could add that. Kinda unsure of which way to go.

Hello,
New member here, I’ve been lurking for a few weeks and decided to make an account. I’m 35, just had my fourth child and have been looking into starting something to earn some extra money. I live in Braintree, MA, 12 miles south of Boston and work as a union laborer in Boston where construction is booming. Work is fine, but killer on your body. I have no experience in pressure washing besides cleaning around my house. I really want to get into this, but not sure about working in the harsh winters around here. I have the truck and funds to get started, there’s just so many options for equipment and learning about chemicals and processes. I’m here to learn and soak up all the information in this very helpful community. Still not even sure if there’s a market for me, but I’m gonna spend some time here and find out. Thanks
