I’m Corey from southeast Texas area. I started pressure washing as a side gig back in October 2020, purchased a 4000 psi/4 gpm skid mounted machine and have it mounted on a 5x12 trailer along with a 25 gal chem tank and 225 gal water tank. Also purchased a 21" surface cleaner. While the business hasn’t kicked off quite as fast as I would like I have been able to get a gig with the company I am currently employed washing their big rigs (International trucks and 53’ dry van trailers) once a month. I have also picked up a few other smaller jobs here and there. I’ve started a Facebook page and run ads as well on Facebook. I have business cards out at several convenience stores and will have some yard signs delivered tomorrow.
I would like to turn this into my full time job and leave the mundane DC operations behind. Looking forward to getting to know you guys and reading as much content as I can!
Hello my name is Steve and I currently service the Greater Cleveland area primarily the eastern communities (Eastlake, Willoughby, Willowick, etc) and this is my second year full time washing with no paycheck job. Started doing it on the weekends about 4 years ago and loved it immediately, I wish I’d discovered this forum about 4 years ago but finding it this past off season was a huge blessing, I am very thankful for all of the advice from the many threads and in the future I hope to be able to offer something that helps someone else learn like I did. Still learning a lot as I try to grow but I’m having a blast!!

New member here. My name and Chris Spencer and I’ve been a professional part time washer for 19 years in Richmond Va area. I work full time as a firefighter. I do 99% residential work washing mostly houses, decks, and concrete. I’m a long time devout downstreamer, but have tried about every different way to wash a house.
I haven’t been in any online forums for several years, but I figured I would join and maybe learn a new trick or two. I’ve learned alot online over the years dating back to Steve Rowlett’s Cleaner Network if anyone remembers that. I hope to offer some help to others along the way.
Hey guys,
I’m located in southwest nh and in my fourth season. I mostly do residential work but have done some commercial work for gas stations. I do roof washing but don’t prioritize it and also do other work over the course of the year as the pressure wash season slows down up here. I’ll be getting into kitchen exhaust hood cleaning in the near future, flying out to Texas for training in July. Thanks to infinity for inviting me to join, I referred a job to him and he reached out. He is definitely good people.
How’s it going everyone. My name is Noah and I am the owner/operator of Hakes Specialized Services, Ltd in South Central PA (Adams and York County). This is my first year of business and it is already growing more than anticipated. This is currently just my side business as I am a Safety and Environmental consultant full time (bring on the safety guy jokes). This winter I began my trailer build which consists of a 5.5 GPM belt driven unit from PWP, a 5.5 GPM 12V system I use for applying SH, a 275 gallon IBC tote for water supply and a 35 gallon tank for my batch. I started out with just some family and friend jobs and it has quickly grown into 3-4 jobs/week. I have spent countless hours scouring this forum and learning more and more about the different methods everybody uses to satisfy their clients. Looking forward to learning more!
Hello all, my name is Billy and I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I’ve been a paramedic for 27 years and had a few different side hustles. The last being commercial insurance sales. The agency I’m in primarily insures contractors. I’ve learned a lot but absolutely hate the insurance business. I have decided to start me a soft wash pressure washing business. My goal is to build my side hustle up to the point in 3 years it will make the decision easy to go ahead and retire. Financial reasons is the only reason I would stay. I’ve seen enough human suffering and carnage. I’m ready from that point of view. So my goal is to purchase a little equipment here and there to build my trailer by next spring. I have been lurking in the background here, Facebook groups and YouTube soaking up all the info I can. You guys are great. I would love to go somewhere locally part time and learn the business but I have to much respect for people to use them like that, so they could train their competition. I do have some reservations. I’m no spring chicken. I’m 49. Not in bad health but also not in the best shape I could be in. Maybe this will help me get back in better shape ( other than round). Thanks for allowing me in the group and I appreciate any input.
Yeah that’s what I figured but I have to at least get the basics. I figured that out pretty quick when the ones that haven’t been doing it very long are now selling how to courses. Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, I just got finished reading an entire thread about a SW. I learned a lot reading that thread, and some about SW’s. I was looking at a book earlier in Amazon. I think I’ll save my money and use the search button here. Thanks.
Hello all! My name’s Ozzy and I just started up a pressure washing business in metro Atlanta called CleanRight Pressure Washing. I figured I should introduce myself here because I’ve been obsessively reading everybody’s post now for months ( I figured out how to use the search bar . I’d like to be able to interact with everybody on here. I know my hour counter probably sais zero, and that’s because I made an account with the wcra instead of pwra on accident. I’m pretty sure I wasnt logged in to that most of the time also. Anyways I’m running a 5x8 trailer with a 5 gpm pressure washer and 65 gallon buffer tank, 16" whisper washer, and 200’ of hose.
Just introducing myself. I’m new and just knocking doors looking for jobs as of now, but looking forward to learning even more from you guys.
Hello everyone from Alabama. After lurking around for several weeks, I finally created an account and have been reading a lot of good info.
I’ve searched and trying to find out the best way to start my business (yes, another noob trying to break into this industry). I’ve been a business owner in the past(non-service industry). I’m currently working for a financial institution but I want a career in this industry.
I’m currently working on my business plan and would love some feedback on the following:
What is the best way to start part-time and transition to full-time? My current job would only allow me to wash on the weekends and concerned about not being able to answer calls.
Commercial vs residential?
My thoughts are if I market to commercial, it will allow me to work nights and weekends? I understand that commercial is more lucrative as well.
Before going full-time, I’d like to set up reoccurring accounts to create some stability. What would be the markets for this?
My goals:
-start p/t
-transition to f/t
-hire technicians that would allow me to work on the business and not in it
I greatly appreciate any comments and glad I found this resource.
If this an inappropriate section to post this, please advise…I’m really inexperienced with these forums.
Nice! I’m sure we’ll become friends. Happy to show you my setup and how to use it. Hell, I’ll even let you rent it until you make enough to set up your own. I don’t think I’ll be washing in B’ham until at least spring of next year
