Thank you!
Nope, never heard of em.
I’d say the same thing lol
I have heard of the Bieber guy but had to bing nickleback. They appear to be the Van Halen of the North.
@anon37135677 Thanks a lot! I’ve had to resort to smuggling Elemonator across the border (don’t tell CBSA…) Princess Auto is a good tip for consumables, that’ll be helpful one day I’m sure. Cheers.
Haha no need to smuggle it you’ll be fine crossing with it. A fiver is only $99 US plus shipping and will last you a long time especially since you’re just starting out. I’d grab some cling on too if you plan on setting up a roof washing pump. Which you definitely should out there. Like I said if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. If I can’t answer them I’ll direct you to someone who can.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Blake. My wife and I run a medium size residential and commercial cleaning company. We are located in the southeast United States. (Alabama). We are both in our 30’s and have 3 young children. I absolutely love the service industry and really enjoying working everyday. We are currently working to expand and cover more area. Adding new services has been on the back burner for quite some time. (We got complacent with our range of service) Its time to add additional services in order to compete in our expanded markets. We have had multiple clients asking for power wash service due to limited availability of other companies. After loads of market research we determined this would be the perfect addition to our company. This is something that’s newer to me. I have spent days now looking through post, forums, etc. I landed here and quickly found a lot of information available. I decided to join in hopes to continue researching threads and talking to the industry pros. Looking forward to talking with you all.
Welcome Blake! Glad to have you.
Thanks very much
Hello all,
My son and I run a small window cleaning company (~400 residential jobs last year + a few commercial) and are adding power washing this year. We’re in Kansas City, mostly on the south side.
Appreciate all the info that I’ve been able to find from this forum, didn’t realize I wasn’t already a member until last week. Thought the WCR membership meshed.
Welcome Justin, I believe @squidskc might be near you. Hope you find the forum helpful!
Hello all,
William here from NY long island, I started pressure washing last yr on weekends and just fell in love with it. After many yrs working a deadend job I feel that now I have a brighter future ahead off me and thats all because I found a great place to learn and a great group off guys here. I appreciate all the information given on the form the first great lesson i learned here was to use the search bar. I have spent hrs and days reading on and just cant get away from here lol. My life and mind has expanded to better things . THANK YOU ALL.
Greetings William and welcome to the forum!
Hey everyone! Super excited to be here.
I’m Kyle from Northern California
I’ve been an Underground Drilling Locator/Operator and Commercial truck driver the past 10 years.
The company I was with went out of business in November 2019. After spending the next month sulking, I decided to put my big boy pants on and get back to work with my own pressure washing business.
So this January I filed for my Business License, started my LLC and secured insurance quotes.
While I wait for my business licenses/permits to process, I’m currently working on:
-
Building my website, Branding and Marketing
-
My open trailer build.
I will be starting with a Belt Drive 4/4000
I was gonna go with a 5.5 but I have a feeling I will be doing more surface cleaning in my area and don’t want to shoot myself in the foot with the 5.5 if I needed more PSI than that little GX390 can put out. I figure the 4/4 would allow me to do a wide range of jobs until I find a niche, dial back my services and get my 8 GPM next year.
But regardless, my pressure washer is actually the last thing I’ll be purchasing. The backend(website, accounting, marketing, etc) is more important for me to get done right now while I have the extra time on my hands.
I’ve set an official launch date of April 1st. Mostly based off my business licenses/permits, processing times.
Anyways, it’s great to be here, PWR has been an outstanding resource with getting my company up and running. Looking forward to contributing and being apart of the community!
Welcome aboard Kyle and howdy !
Make sure you research commercial flat work/ SC on here, you might just have a total transformation of your thought process on psi vs gpm. Very smart on your belt drive purchasing thoughts btw,
Congratulations and good luck sir. @Tahoe
Thanks @Hotshot I’ve actually been following a lot of your posts over the past month. I did long haul trucking for 2 years so a lot of things you talk about, I can totally relate to lol
And honestly I’ve been researching that constantly. 5.5 GPM was my first choice up until a couple days ago. I’ve just read so much how a gx390 won’t push more than 2300-2400 PSI
Which is on the low end of the ‘specification’ chart for most surface cleaners so I was worried about the low PSI only in regard to pushing a surface cleaner. If I can get by cleaning concrete with a surface cleaner with a 5.5 on a gx390 then that is my first choice machine.
I’ve used pressure washers a lot over the years, but mostly for potholing/excavation work. Never touched a surface cleaner, but I have a feeling that will be most of the work I will get early on.
I will continue reading up on it over the next few weeks. I just don’t want to spend $2000 on a machine and wish I got the other one instead lol
Thanks for the response and feeback!
Anytime man. I don’t wanna derail this welcoming thread with a bunch of pw tec talk. Ya can either methodically create your own personal thread and get a ton of feed back from others or just jump in somewhere when that topic arrives or go on the older topic you like and awake the dead. Its all good either way. or pm anyone ya want. See that dude that gave me that second hearty thing. he’s a smart feller on here and knows a ton as well as others.
Welcome
Welcome @Tahoe to the forum. A lot of info in here, read up and ask questions along the way. Much success!
Good Evening,
My Name is Ed and I am currently pursing the the possibility of starting a part time pressure washing/ in the future soft washing business when I can afford that machine in south Fl.I just wanted to reach out and see if you guys to tell me some of the mistakes you or others have made while pursuing the same opportunity. As well would you mind giving recommendations for example marketing techniques and equipment decisions. I was looking to stat with a pressure washing in the 4k PSi range with about a 20in or a little less surface cleaner with pressure washing pole and a small trailer. I look forward to hearing from everyone and thank you in advance for any information one can provide.
