Hello my name is Zachary Y Moran im from Los Angeles CA. and currently living in Longview TX.
Im in the starting business stage. learning as much as possible before beginning a new chapter in my life. In a nutshell my ambition for this year is to start my pressure/soft washing business and book at least 25 jobs. sounds very simple but that’s how I want it to be. for 2021 i want to have my web page running, book a total of 100 jobs and in 2022 I would like to hit a $80k plus profit.
Welcome aboard!
Welcome Zachary!
You’ll be surprised how fast you grow after you start, Just by word of mouth alone. You’ll hit that 25 goal in a blink of an eye. Good luck and welcome Zachary.
Welcome, @mtmmistavl and @ProEnhancementExte! You guys have come to the right place
Hi Gents, as you know you wouldn’t want to take much pressure washing advice from me right now but I left a job in corporate accounting to start this business. I am not a tax accountant, but if anyone ever needs any bookkeeping advice I’d be happy to help. I’ll put this in a unique thread also to make sure it gets out.
Hello Everyone and pleased to get know all of you. I am starting a small business endeavor to help a friend of mine with a car washing business. I’ve never owned my own pressure washer and that’s probably why my house looks like crap!
Any way I’m here for primarily knowledge to grow in the field and this seems to be a knowledgeable group of ladies and gentlemen.
I appreciate all who reach out to help me in advance and those who’ve taken the time to help others, benefiting us rookies.
Cheers!
Hello to Everyone! Before I introduce myself I feel I need to say how impressed I am with the generous and straight forward answers I’m seeing on this board. IMO, it’s a must for anyone venturing or trying to maintain in the PW industry. There’s a ton of knowledge and experience on here and I will always try to not abuse it by asking questions without doing my own research first. I am no stranger to research as I’ve been working in IT computer support for 21 years which requires a fair amount of self motivation to read, learn and “keep up”. I also have a background in construction sales and have tackled many different types of home projects over the years. ( I love my tools!) Science and physics were always my favorite subjects in school so I tend to gravitate to these types of things.
So about me, My name is Joe and located in Hudson Valley, upstate NY dba Hudson Valley Pressure Wash Pro. and I am venturing into the PW world on a PT basis and hope to segway into a more FT gig as I near retirement. I have purchased a Silverado 1500 4X4 truck, 4.5 x 8 trailer and much of the equipment. I decided on a Pressure Pro 4000 PSI, 4 GPM machine with belt drive and a 65 gallon buffer tank which will take my unloader too. I have a lot of wells where I live and don’t want to get hung up with low water etc. I am leaning towards DS and purchased the Adams injector but open to trying the xjet although carrying around a chemical bucket sounds like a headache to me. I read that your DS should be at least 3 feet away from the unloader to prevent chemical backflow. I haven’t found much comment yet about installing DS after the reel but have seen that reference, which makes sense. I’m still debating with myself whether I should use my truck bed or the trailer, and secondly, should I remove the wheels from the machine and mount or just tie down with the wheels on. I’m concerned about over the road vibration, potholes etc, messing up my machine even with the cushion pads underneath and also being able to easily move the machine on and off as needed. I don’t have a garage at my house so concerned about exposure. I have a soft cover on my truck bed though. So many more thoughts and concerns but will take it easy on you all!
I do have a most recent concern as I just took delivery this morning of 2 Reel Craft hose reels. I had already ordered them before seeing the comments here about Reel Craft and the recommendations for the Titan, Hannay and Cox reels. I accepted the delivery although I was tempted to refuse delivery after reading some comments here. I’m hoping they will get me through my early stages and I make enough money to upgrade but if you veterans advise me to not take them out of the box and return, that’s what I’ll do.
Anyway, I could go on and on but would like to close by saying Thank You All very much for sharing your valuable experience and knowledge. It’s not taken lightly and very much respected. I hope to be able to one day answer others questions with the same level of experience I see from you guys. Also, if anyone has any computer questions, as it’s an important part of life and business these days, feel free to ask away. I’m not a computer genius but I pretend to be one at work. I’ll do my best to answer. Peace.
Welcome!
Welcome Joe!
Hey all, I’ll echo sentiments of all those above me. I’ve found this to be an amazing resource for learning the nitty gritty of this industry. I’m Ryan, a Canadian paramedic from Vancouver BC slowly putting together enough equipment and know how to make the jump from cleaning for friends and family to small business owner! I’m particularly interested in hearing from all the Canadians here about sourcing gear and chem. I’ve done ok so far but any tips and tricks are certainly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read and post, know that it makes a huge difference to us newbies.
I really hate to do this, especially since we are entering a new era of being nice and all. But, we have reached our quota of Canadians for this month. Hopefully someone will leave and clear out a spot for you or, I can PM you my address and you can send Tim H donuts straight to me in return for special treatment in finding you a spot among us
Well said😂
@Steve I see you typing. Don’t ruin a good thing
Welcome Ryan! I believe that @anon37135677 is also from
Oh no, well… I’ll see you March first then.
Whaaaa? I sorta think Canada is… I like errr… umm… Isn’t Nickleback and Justin Bieber from Canada?
LOL, I like your spirit. Welcome
Welcome @Rnewman. I hear the Vancouver area is a great place to start a PW business. Unfortunately Canada isn’t the greatest place to find softwashing equipment. You won’t be able to purchase surfactants made specifically for our industry, you’ll have to purchase those from the US. As for chems, I suggest you contact a local chemical company that carries Sodium hypochlorite (12.5% bleach/chlorine). They’ll likely carry others chems you may need such as sodium hydroxide, oxalic acid, etc. As for now you can purchase your SH from local pool stores, Canadian Tire, or other hardware stores. As for equipment, pressurewashersonline.ca carries a decent amount of stuff, you can also find a PW section at Princess Auto if you have one locally. They carry hoses, lances, quick connects, and other equipment you may need in a pinch. Amazon also carries some things you may need as well. Again, Canada kinda sucks when it comes to our industry, but it’s not to difficult to purchase from the US especially since you’re in the Vancouver area. If you have any questions feel free to message me anytime and I’ll do my best to help.
