New Member Introductions

Hello everyone Tyler here from central Pa have some extra cash laying around and while pedaling my bike around town I’ve noticed a ton of dirty houses and thought these guys need me to sell them some service. So Ive been doing research ever since. Months and countless YouTube videos later I’ve stumbled in here and wish I had sooner!!! I always washed my own house with bleach water mixture ruining the spring in my cheap pump sprayer then borrowing my neighbors 2gpm washer to spray it off using the wrong tip I’m sure. Anyway that’s the short of it im in the logo making process now for Standing Stone Pressure Washing llc. You will probably see me in the marketing section next asking for all your rude judgy and sarcastic opinions/criticism/knowledge/advice  thanks for having me!!!

Good Afternoon,

My name is John and I am based out of Texas. I pressure washed as a kid back in the early 2000’s for my moms ex husband who owned a pressure washing business. We did mainly big flat work jobs for HEB, hospitals, schools, etc. No soft washing or anything like that. I decided to go into business full time for myself last year and started a pressure washing/softwashing business. I have fell back on this site for info for multiple different scenarios I have found my self in so I decided to join the forum. I would like to say thanks to all you guys for the wisdom shared and hope to be helpful to others as yall have to me. Glad to be apart of such a great group of people. Thanks

Welcome John! Where in Texas are you based? I’m in Kingwood TX

Thanks. I’m based out of port Aransas/Aransas pass.

I know a property manager down there. I’ll PM you.

Sounds good

Hi, my name is Angie. I started working for a company a year ago that sells products to pressure washing companies. I still do not know enough about the business to do my job as well as I would like. I saw this forum and wanted to expand my knowledge on what you guys are truly looking for in products and different techniques you might be using. My son is starting up his own pressure washing business, so I also figured I could pass the information on to him.

What is the company you work for ? Do they have a website ?

I work for NWChemical/ West Coast Chemical. We are located in Washington State but ship all over the USA. Yes we do. It’s pretty basic but gives all of the info needed. www.nwchemicals.com

Yes I understand what you are saying. Having some autonomy is the main goal. I’ve been working in aerospace for a number of years and it’s been good but not always great. I was off 4 days a month while working a commercial start up program. I’m climbing the corporate ladder but have no interest in management. I plan on continuing to use my graduate degree and keeping my day job with insurance. My job has been unstable at times and you are right the ability to have a backup would be very reassuring especially with a baby on the way (first). My plant let go of 26 people this past week.

My plan is to work for myself in some capacity once I have a fully funded retirement which I’m actively working to achieve. I have no pension like most people these days so its all on me. This business is the first step I am taking in learning how to do that.

Thanks, I took this advice and have accelerated my timeline. I worked with a forum member in the area a few weeks back and was able to get some hands on experience and have some questions answered.

I’m going to be posting my trailer build shortly.

Hello to ALL and thank you for the knowledge! My name is Kevin and I am starting a pressure wash business in Central Florida. I wanted to show my appreciation for everything that the people on this site have taught me up to now. I was a lurker for a very long time as I really wasn’t sure I wanted to start my own business, especially in 2020 with all that was going on. But I do enjoy blasting away the grime and making things look new again so I kept finding myself coming back to this site to learn more. Plus pressure washers are just cool! :sunglasses: The people in this forum are just amazing for sharing their knowledge and giving me the confidence to GO FOR IT! I am starting out with a DeWalt DH4240B Pressure Washer 4200 PSI Gas Cold Water and a 24" Whirl-A-Way Surface Cleaner. I look forward to reading and learning more from you all!

I’m glad to be a part of this community and look forward to chatting with y’all soon!

Hi all, I’m new here and live in south central florida.
I’ve been occasionally pressure washing for years as part of my construction and remodeling work, but as I get older I’m looking seriously at transitioning from the construction end of things to pressure/soft washing and possibly painting combined.
I’ve already learned a whole lot from this site, and will save my questions till after I finish reading the guide on kindle and more reading and searching here. I feel fortunate that I stumbled across this site.
I’m planning on sticking solely to residential work part to full time and am weighing set up options. I have a 4x8 utility trailer already that I could set up, and debating the need for a water tank(weight on smaller trailer) as most of my work would most likely be residential with water available, also debating the need for an expensive hot water system as I’ve never really had any pw jobs that a cold water system couldn’t handle.
Anyway, glad to be here and learning more everytime I come on here!

What’s up guys!! My name is Rodrigo, I’m located in northern Cali & I just recently decided to kick start my business…in winter :joy: my start up equipment includes 4000 psi 4GPM washer, a ridgid 18” surface cleaner, 100ft of hose, some SH & degreasers. I’m curious to see how many of you have your trucks setup (when you first started)

Welcome. Because this is an introduction thread people won’t post their builds. But there is a trailer build section with tons of posts and many truck builds in it too.
