Hello everyone, So after years and years of working for landscape companies, Fruit processing warehouses, Car Dealerships etc. I’ve grown tired of what seems to be the standard at most companies. Work hard, Watch the favorites advance. I’m now in my mid 20’s and finally pursuing a dream of mine to start a company.
Before i continue this ill add that I’ve decided to start this with a friend of mine who i have worked with at numerous jobs before. We both have learned each others work patterns and once we find our grove in a company we’re able to work in tandem without having to communicate for the most part. We’ve found by understanding each others work patterns we have always been able to drastically out work our co-workers in speed, attention to detail , and most important quality. Now i know what everyone is going to say, " Drop the partner, Nothing good will come out of it " " You’re going to have to work twice as hard to make the money " and all that. I’m well aware the problems that we are going to be facing working together as owner operators, And as much as I appreciate the feedback on the difficulties we will be facing, I’m determined to face these problems head on and prevail. This will eliminate the need for me to find a employee who will need to be motivated as much as I am. In short, Colt ( my partner ) is the only guy I can trust to be honest - Show up - Be motivated - and share the equal load of all aspects of the company.
So with that out of the way, We are GoTwoGuysLLP and are going to be launching out in Tri-Cities WA.
With a quick search you will find Tri-Cities is one of the most rapid growing cities in the pacific north west. With our high end residential homes sprouting all over our region, To our massive agriculture surroundings, To our Hanford Nuclear Power plant we continue to have a large amount of people flocking to this side of the country. And to my surprise while working landscaping all these years i continue to see Landscape truck/trailer after another down each road soaking up all the business they can get, But only a handful of pressure washing companies taking the market serious over here. From a little bit of research It seems that we have 14 competitors that i could find in my area. Most of these being craigslist ad guys with a portable cold water machine. And to be honest that was going to be the way i started. Originally i purchased a 4 GPM 4000 PSI machine. But Then with some help i was able to pick up a used Unit with 196 hours on it. Now our set up is a 18 HP vanguard ( will be upgrading to 23-35 hp when it makes sense ) hot water set up on a single axle trailer with a 250 gallon tank. This also came with a arsenal of wand/guns and a 20 inch BE Whirl away surface cleaner without the casters and along with some other attachments. Now, I understand this machine is a starting entry level unit for a commercial-residential market made by POWERLINE USA and isn’t going to be able to blow away all my leading competitors. I’m completely ok with that… I’ve actually got to be. There is no such thing as failing to me when it comes to launching this. If something isn’t working or there’s a hard month, Hard year we will push through it and change what isn’t working.
I just got back From Salt Lake City Utah with my partner for Power Line Training, And got some good info out of the place besides them trying to make it seem like our first year we are going to be rich lol.
We’re planning on targeting Small commercial accounts and residential,
Drive ways
Patios
House washings
Shopping carts
gas stations
Business signs and store fronts
Fast food drive in concrete slabs
Garbage dumpsters and surrounding areas
We have some idea’s on offering some community services such as sanitizing and disinfecting playground areas for kids - Offering some free service to Military Vets as a way to give back to those who gave up everything for us.
We are in the middle of what I’m calling our Pre-Launch phase. I’m working on our company logo to resemble a handy mans logo from the 40-60’s look with a little modern twist. ( Hopefully to give off a vibe that even though we are young, We share the same values of hard working, trust worthy Americans that seems to be a dying trait in our society )
Establishing a company website is something I have not started yet but will be doing soon as our logo comes back from the graphic designer.
To summarize We are trying to focus right now mainly at Marketing before launching to be busy once we are ready. We are new to the pressure washing business and i hope this site can help lead us in the right path many of you found to be successful. Here’s to a nerve wrecking, exciting and rewarding journey.
