They will all burst eventually It’s the nature of rubber and pressure, if you can’t get a year out of your hoses without failures it’s time to move on. Crappy hose doesn’t just vanish from stores overnight and re stocked with better quality hose.
I’ve been doing that for years now. @Racer thought I was crazy for that. I rarely have hoses blow but when they do I can just pop the QC and slap on the new hose with QC’s already on and ready to go.
@DisplacedTexan Who’s hoses are you running with?
Are you able to get one long section or do you use a couple 100 footers? I guess I should say meters for you “Australians” .
Goodyear and some brand I had never heard of that I picked up at my local PW supplier last fall. It’s MNWash. The jacket on it is different than the Goodyear but it’s held up just as well. I’ll be replacing all my hoses to start next season so I’m going to give this Hose Company a try.
I just put 500’ 1 wire from The Hose Company this afternoon.
Definitely feels like thicker hose and has a burst rating over 10k.
Does hose company have anything longer than 100 ft? Can’t find it on website
Yup, just tell 'em how long you want.
We got two 250’.
Call Scott at 757-559-6013. He’s the sales guy.
I personally run with 2 sections of 100 footers of hose so I can replace a section that pops with new hose instead of replacing the whole hose and just rotate so the business end stays in good condition. The length depends on who’s supplying it, vendors generally have “industry standard lengths” while wholesaler who I get it from buy the stuff in multiple thousand foot rolls of the stuff. Thers tonnes of good hose companies out there a lot of them aren’t linked to pressure washing in anyway, just got to look for them.
@MuscleMyHustle are you using qc or unions to join them?
Anyone has to be better than that JGB. Their hose is awful…lol. They’re known more for industrial applications too. I think The Hose Company mainly started in hydraulic and just recently started dealing with pressure washing. Seems like a solid hose but we’ll see. And, since you typed more than a couple sentences I’ll call you a Kiwi this time. Heck, I don’t even know if New Zealand is part of Australia or not.
I run quick connects, but unions are probably the right thing to do. Depends who I send to the hose shop lol.
Very nice of you Brian, your one of the better Canadians on here lol.
Not sure what happened to jcb but I got close to a year out of the first hoses I bought and less than a month out of the last 4 hoses . Complete junk .
Wasn’t me, because that’s what I’ve always done. I run 2-100’s and a 50’. I don’t understand all the discussion on hoses. I buy my hose from Hydromax now - 100’ for $120ish. Still have some 2-3 year old Goodyear on trailer. Blow maybe 1 -2 hoses/year and that’s with using hot water a fair amount of the time. Heck I’ve got a 50’ hose from NT that’s 6 years old and still good for backup. It’s hose, a disposable item, they’re all going to blow at some point. I just buy a couple of new 100’s every 12 months or so to rotate in cycle.
I’m big on Continental Hoses…
But this new Hydro Tek unit has surprised me with the hoses it came with!!! Super light!!!
Could’ve sworn that was you picking on me
LOL, good chance, but not for that.
We gotta talk about something. We all can’t be doing new truck and trailer builds every other week…like some folks!! Hahaa
