New box truck... Need help with equipment arrangement

Hi everyone. Still new to this website, but so far have been extremely impressed and happy to have found such a helpful website. I am asking for help on the arraignment of my equipment in a box truck we just bought. The box truck is 17 feet long and we need to fit 2 one hundred foot hose reels in it as well as 2 five hundred gallon tanks, a north star pressure washing skid, surface cleaners, chemicals, and other miscellaneous tools in it. What is the best way to organize everything and make everything fit while having as much walk room as possible. I should also note that there is only one other door to the truck besides the back door. The second door connects the cab of the truck to the box. Thank you for your help in advance it is much appreciated!!

Old Penske truck ? Picture please. We love pictures

You could have a lot more room if you left the NorthStar skid out and bought something that won’t cause constant headaches.

I will send photos soon. It’s a 2000 Ford E-450. Great miles new transmission 20,000 miles ago.

That made me chuckle. Thank you for the laugh, because it does cause some headaches I won’t lie!

Only reason I know is because I have one bolted to a trailer.
What are you trying to do? You want 1000 gallons of water with a 4 GPM unit?
Seems a bit excessive.
Are you gonna be washing in the middle of a desert?

north star, sorry fellas

What are you planning to do with 100’ of hose?

I’m guessing alot of commercial flat work

When/if I ever get a second rig I’ll want to make it a box truck. Looking forward to seeing yours come together. Keep us posted.

I would definitely look into installing some rv doors for curb side mounted reels.

Yeah,yeah. Now I know.
If you want to start in business before you find this forum, you can make bad decisions.
I was in a hurry and bought the ready made skid/trailer for $7249 and another $2000 in equipment and chemicals and such and BAM, I was in business.
I can’t complain too much. It has made me a lot of money…but, it has taught me that the toolbox that is mounted on the front is for a reason. You need to pack it with just about every tool and every fitting and every assorted other things to be able to work effectively.
Let’s just say, I can do a lot of field repairs and not blink an eye.
Great engine, good pump, decent trailer and everything else is sub standard for even home owner use.

Ive been debating on a enclosed trailer or box truck. I like the trailer, because if one of my trucks goes down “again” I can simply unhook and rehook to my other truck. But a big box truck with a Tommy lift would be a whole lot easier to work out of I think.

The GVWR on that cutaway won’t do 1,000 gallons safely with a 17’ body and all your equipment

What do you need 1000 gallons for?

We had 1000 gallon tanks on our rigs in the oilfield but that’s because rigs are usually pretty remote. I couldn’t imagine needing it for most commercial and residential jobs.

I’m looking at a kenworth T300 with the C-7 cat 6 speed. 33,000 GVW

Too rich for my blood! I just bought our second C6500 GMC Topkick with a 454 7.4l and a Allison AT545. 26,000 GVWR for sub 2k

I squirt 1,500 gallons most nights doing fleet

And you haul that around?

Yes, 750 gallons
