Need to add buffer tank ASAP

it is good hose, but, yes, if used in humid regions it is a mold magnet!

Pretty humid here in KY. This summer has been the wettest on record.

Me and racer are both in sc i think its more humid here. My hose is new so no info for you but racers has had his for years on truck and for home use i didnt see a spot of mold anywhere but he does take good care of his stuff we wash rinse his equipment everytime we finish.

Cox reels for supply line, and a summit reel for pressure hose. I’ve heard IBS say that summit reels are junk, but so far mine has been a blessing idk.

I think cheerwine is junk but he loves it.

I am at the beach, I tell you it molds.
Feel free to to not heed my input.
You asked, I answered.

I think Racer mentioned he tends to wipe things down as he packs up. I am not sure if he wipes down his supply hose.

I wipe them all down. If you’re rolling up just as easy to have a rag in your guide hand.

I Cannot believe this mold thing in the hose is being an issue among pressure washers who use SH everyday, all day ,

  1. For outside do like Racer and wipe it when you finish using it, might even wet the rag in SH solution for longer-lasting results
  2. Inside mold, if you have a 12V pump can run some SH solution through the hose on a circle from a: small SH solution tank - 1 end of Flexilla in it to pull the SH solution - to 2 end of Flexilla - 12v pump - a short cheap hose - cheap filter or a strainer on top of the small SH solution tank (to filter mold and particles being released/cleaned from the inside hose, and dump clean SH to - small SH solution tank). or can do it the other way around using the PW strainer in the tank with the hose part on it to pull from the small SH solution tank to the pump through Flexila and back to the small SH solution tank Fire up the pump for a 10-15 minute dwell time and check, though it won’t ever get dry, so repeat or dwell longer if not satisfactory.
  3. If you don’t have a 12v pump can also us DS injector to Flexilla by connecting Flexilla somehow to the ball valve or the end of PW hose as there is no pressure build up, but this way you cannot circle to a small SH tank, so you are spending some SH but should do the job as well.
  4. If you have nothing, you can just roll the Flexilla in a bucket of SH but should make sure SH enters the inside of the hose (whole length), let it dwell until satisfactory results are achieved. . Then rinse, by connecting it to any spigot, but make sure to dispose/dump the dirty/moldy/ SH that was in the hose safely

All these steps, except cleaning the mold will also prevent mold from coming back for longer  am I selling you a hose wash? :joy:

I know this is an old thread, but i came across it in my search for a buffer tank, and my experience might help someone else looking for this size tank.

I have searched online for days and called literally over a dozen places locally, and nobody carries it or is interested in ordering one. Shipping from online sources brings the price up to over $400 in every case. $400+ for this tank is ridiculous. It might be because of fuel and supply chain issues (thanks again covid.)

Tractor supply is also currently asking over $400 for this same 65G Norwesco 43478 Horizontal Leg Tank. That part number isnt found anywhere else on the internet that i can find. The pn for apparently that same tank elsewhere is 45191. TSC did indeed price match the tank for me despite that!

I dont know if anyone else is having the same difficulty, but if so, give Tractor Supply a shot for price matching!

If they get the Norwesco 120G in stock soon, im going to see if they can price match that one, too, as they are asking over $650nfor that one…

Everything im buing seems to cost 2x more than a couple of years ago. I should have started this venture years ago.

Guess ill have to charge my customers more. Damn inflation.

look for used tanks on facebook marketplace or offerup. i got my 65g horizontal tank for $40

That’s awesome. I’ve kept an eye on the markets but its really scarce around here. Ill keep looking though, deals do pop up.

I did get lucky another way though, Tractor Supply price matchedba 65G tank at $208, about half the cost they are selling that tank for. If they get the 120G tank back in stock, im going to see if they will price match that one too.
