Mornings like THIS!

When your about to be late and you started up the truck to warm it up… and for the first time in 10 years the autolock feature works… …(If you look closely you can still see the 20lb sledge hammer laying across the seat)…Guess who wasn’t late🤣

That sucks. Dont you have a spare key?

Yep…at night I clip all 3 of my key rings together so I don’t forget any in the morning…and I usually just unclip the truck key and keep the rest in my pocket…was a little tired this morning and didn’t unclip it…literally all my keys were on the one carabiner…wont do that ever again! Lesson learned lol

We all learn lessons. Some harder than others. That still sucks.

Luckily the auto glass company is only charging me $200 That’s for the window, labor and to come to where I’m at to fix it…and vacume the truck out

Just fyi, down here, maybe there too, the yellow cab guys do “door unlocking” for about $25.

get one more spare, take off your rear plate and slide the spare behind the plate and tighten the plate back down. Make sure you have flat head bolts holding the plate on. If youre ever locked out you can remove the plate with a quarter or anything flat.

I like that !

Next time call your local tow company. They will unlock your vehicle for a lot less than a new window.

You seriously broke your window to get into your truck?

I hear ya, life goes on

Very seldom does destroying something seem like the best option…but in this case I could have sat around waiting for a locksmith for an hour or just moved on to making money…lol…it was a nickle holding up a dime…

Handy to carry a length of fencing wire in chassis rail of truck and a length of that nylon packing tape .
I have used both to break into my cars over the years when I have locked my keys in.
Also handy when other people are in a situation , it’s got me beers and kisses a few times.
The old hidden spare key works every time if you remember to check it hasn’t rattled out…

Just for future reference, the back glass is much cheaper on most trucks. I know this because, well, I do dumb things too:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Zip tie a key to the chassis. Magnetic boxes fall off

It’s not funny, but coincidentally yesterday I decided to put spare keys on both my truck and house. No particular reason. I’ve been wanting to do it, but the thought just crossed my mind… then I read your post.
