Master Blaster Truck Build

They do require that. My understanding and interpretation is that as an employer you’re required to provide fall protection and adhere to the requirements. An owner/operator is not. That being said please relay what he says. The only one that matters is OHSA though. Not my opinion or anyone else. That and your insurance’s interpretation of the requirements.

Simple explanation:
My employee has to use a harness and tie off.
Me as the owner can run and jump right off the roof because I reserve the right to be dumb lol.

Correct answer:
Tie off and be safe.

OSHA does not apply to owner, it does to employees.

Thanks I was trying to find it in writing but it just always states “employees”.

You are 100 % right on that @TexasPressureWashing just talked to ray and he pointed me in the right direction for tying off, I will share more info on it when I get the equipment in

So a little update after 4 months of use:

75 jobs completed.

1 injector for each rig failed. Replaced with quick connect injectors I had ready (Thanks @Racer )

Flexzilla air hoses require 2 clamps in my experience.

No major issues or things I’d change. I am currently only using one surface cleaner rack and I may use the other or add some brackets to hang the 16" Ultra from inside the truck bed. It currently sits in it.

I love the storage of the service bed.

I stopped keeping 200ft of supply hose on the reel and just use 100ft now. As of yet in my area I haven’t needed more.

I plumbed both tanks into my roof system because I seem to do more roofs although I’m starting to do more and more house washes.

For me the best ROI on advertising has been Facebook Automated campaigns. $116 spent and $2900 returned. I am not running any other ads. When I hit 25 Google reviews (5 stars) my phone started ringing a lot.

I’ve done 2 commercial jobs and I landed those by chasing the owner down until I had a face to face and that took me 60 seconds to close the deal and land a recurring cleaning.

Changed the oil on both engines. Super easy with drainzit hoses.

I thought I had bad coils on the 690 and replaced them Derp it was a vapor locked gas tank. I told Mindy to fill it up and didn’t tell her to back off the gas cap on the marine tank. Totally my fault and I didn’t check it after. Replacing the coils was easy and now I carry a spare set on the truck.

Two is one and one is none is the truth regarding parts and spares.

Thanks again for all the help, support, knowledge, and encouragement. With the season about to start I’m very excited to ramp up and see what a full year is like.

I also had my website redone if you want to take a look. www.texaspw.com

Did you redesign it or did you have someone do it?

I had someone do it. He’s done a lot of sites and SEO work on the side. He’s a washer as well.

$497 but also includes a year of hosting. He basically did everything I wanted and is all about customizing it like you want. He’s also not a one and done guy he prides himself on customer service.

I figured with how busy you’ve been that you hired someone especially since the original site was less than a year old!
It looks good!
Does your designer have a company website with info?

What about osha?

In all states or just anywhere except here in good ol caliscrewya?

What about it? OSHA regulations apply to employees. As the owner you reserve the right to choose your own adventure.

My understanding is Fed trumps state. I’m no lawyer so maybe research it

I thought I could get fined in California for walking on a roof with no harness even as the owner. I’ll look further into it.

You can probably get fined for even thinking about walking on a roof in CA. Send us all $100 and we won’t turn you in. :grinning: :grinning:

What method do you use for reviews? Followup text/email, request upon completion, etc.? I need to boost mine this year but I’ve just gone organic so far.

All of the above. I just stress how important a google review is to me. After I ask them if they felt I provided 5 star service.

Wanted to share I hit my goal of 50 google reviews by March today. Pretty cool to meet my goal. 50 before 5 months operating.

Also my strategy of 2 social media posts a day and 2 posts to my google my business daily seem to be paying off. My photo views are 497% more than similar businesses. I’ve definitely seen a difference in my phone ringing.

Also running Facebook automated ad campaigns at $1 a day has been great. ROI is at 20 to 1.

You show off  I’ve had 2 Google reviews since 1998 so I’m up to two per millennium.
