Making the DS plunge!

Nice. I’m excited about this.

Am I on the right track though using my M5 Twist, or do I need to use the M5DS for 200’ of hose? Trying not to spend another $100 if I can help it.

Yes you’ll need the M5DS nozzle. Keep the other, you may need occasionally for stronger mixes.

I use 200 ft of hose. When I had a 4/4 I pulled 9:1 with a 3-5gom injector. Downstreaming is so easy. It’s good to flush your injector with water at the end of the job and it will last a long time.

Don’t buy a m5ds. Do the mod and save $$. It cost me about $5.00 (already had the 18in lance) to mod my x-jet and enables me to use the m5 while DS. I actually thought you said you modified yours already.

Didnt know there was a mod to do that. Why is a 18inch lance necessary?

You can use a smaller lance. I just had the 18in handy. Here’s a post explaining why and how.

Thats a smart idea.

Agreed. I forget where I originally saw it. There’s a few videos on YouTube of it.

I tried the mod, barely any difference, still misted like crazy.

You need to pry your fins apart a bit. World of difference.

Look at the post again. My point to you is that you can save $$$ by not having to purchase the m5ds. If you did the mod you would already be able to use it while DS. Unless you took it apart and put it back to the way it originally was. If you didn’t, you did not do the mod correctly.

a new m5ds nozzle like 30min worth of work. Would take me longer to mess with modifying the other. It’s a nozzle. Doesn’t hurt to have more than one of different types.

If you modified the x-jet to DS what would you then use to x-jet if you needed it? Can you go back and forth with it?

After it’s modified you can use it with or without the x-jet portion.

I hate to disagree with you but it literally took less than 5 minutes and cost about $5.00. To each their own I guess. I’m just trying to help him save money and time. Why have 2 when you can use 1 for both while saving time and money.

There’s a link a few comments above to a post I created explaining why and how.

Could have made enough to buy one in the time spent talking about on here, lol.

I’ve been using and undersized m5ds. I’m using a 5-7 on my 8. I prefer it this way. Seems like I get more distance and better rinsing yet still gentle enough imo

Discovered this on accident but stuck with it since.

Actually I do too a lot of times if I need a little more pressure, like cleaning composite or knocking light stuff off of brick or block (works fantastic on split face), but don’t get quite the range and a little more mist than with the 7-12 at distance.
