Local domination course (lean and mean academy)

I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this course, or if it is a good value. Ive seen most youtubers sell courses, but they cant all be good lol.

that would be awesome bro thanks so much

let me know i’ve been pondering wether to try it or not. business has slowed down to a halt

Check out my Facebook ads on my Facebook, one of them should be the pinned post, that’s all he’s really telling you to do, plus market to homeowners and college grads in top 50% of zip codes

If u scroll a bit you can find a cpl more I’ve been running. I’m still sitting at 10-15 a lead though

I paid for it. I’m totally new but his videos have some borderline unethical practices, such as creating multiple (10) NextDoor accounts and to put bandit signs everywhere with just a “burner” number on the sign and just “pressure washing” on the sign and not your company name. Idk about some of that stuff, but he does have some pretty good aggressive tactics to get business going.

I wouldn’t call either of those unethical but he is definitely more focused on making every dollar he can of each customer than most.

Creating 10 fake NextDoor accounts so you can keep bumping your posts? That’s unethical, or at least immoral. It’s at minimum breaking the guidelines of NextDoor and ruins the community of NextDoor, which is an app for neighbors, not self-promotion. Maybe that’s where we differ, I’m not judging, but it just doesn’t seem right if everyone on NextDoor were to make 10 accounts. NextDoor has a business to run as well, and making 10 fake accounts doesn’t help their business. He’s not going to ask if it’s ok to make 10 accounts. Do how you want, obviously, but for me, there’s too much of a moral argument to not do it.

Next doors pockets are being stacked. They charge $200 per zip code to advertise in my area, you can’t feel bad for a million dollar company. Seems he has found a way around it. I wouldn’t call that unethical, no one is really getting hurt from it

So it’s ok to do this if the company makes millions? That’s justifying the actions.

That’s like saying it’s ok to steal if the person you’re stealing from is a millionaire. Wrong is wrong in my book. NextDoor is a social community app to help neighbors connect, not something to be manipulated and spammed for profit and self-promotion.

We should respect NextDoor and their rules just as you would like someone to follow the rules you’ve put in place for your business. A little context; my wife is an admin on NextDoor, who sees this stuff all the time.

Did you watch the Lean and Mean video where they’re talking about creating 10 accounts? You can tell they know it’s unethical because of how they apprehensively they talk about doing it because they know it’s not right. He even said in the video that the bandit signs aren’t really legal, either but he does it anyways. I get it that people are still going to do this, but I won’t.

For me, at the end of the day, keeping a clean (pardon the pun) conscience over a few extra bucks is worth more to me. I’m not judging anyone, this is just a personal moral stance I’m taking. I think being honest and direct with the customer is the best rule. If people found out what he was doing, people wouldn’t be happy.

Would you tell your customers you have 10 NextDoor accounts? No way!

And a side note; I wouldn’t recommend buying the Lean And Mean academy training. The content isnt that great. I learned a few things, but for $299, that’s way too much for such little content.

I agree with @PureCleanNW. When you voluntarily create an account with NextDoor, you agree to their standards of conduct. Creating 10 accounts to misuse their intended purpose of accounts? Probably not illegal, but unethical by dictionary definition, very shady at best.

I can think of a few that are getting hurt from this practice.

  1. NextDoor: Their app is now not being used for its intended practice and vision and may lose credibility to the users.
  2. Standard users: They are not getting the list of businesses which they want to be from different sources.
  3. Other business users: They are not getting the same amount of exposure and potentially leads because they are abiding by the rules within NextDoor.
  4. Offender: Continuing to push the line between ethical and unethical to the wrong side of the scale will not serve the person well down the line.

In short, everybody loses and gets hurt. There is a fine line between going the extra mile to build your business and bringing unfair competition to the industry.

Fair enough, you are right it is somewhat ethical. However on the scale of things I have seen much worse. Doing a half ■■■ job, lying to customers etc is definitely unethical but while creating 10 accounts may be unethical it is not something I rank very highly on that chart

@Bigbendwashpros If you start doing some questionable things, you’ll end up doing some downright wrong things. Consciences get eased over time. If you cut a corner here or there…tomorrow you’ll be fine with cutting one more corner.

I encourage not to start your business model this way. You have so much potential there’s no need to do some of these questionable things. You’re clearly a hustler and willing to learn and want to have a great business.

As for NextDoor, they have thousands upon thousands of volunteer moderators looking for this type of stuff. It’s not a matter of if you get caught but when you get caught.

Not only that, your competition will see it as pretty shady and will call you out on it, won’t want to work with you on bigger projects and won’t send extra work your way.

I certainly wouldn’t participate in this myself, and I don’t cut corners. I just feel that something like making 10 Nextdoor accounts it’s not that bad, not that I’d do it or support it.

I know what sticks in my community, im in an over saturated and to stand out I deliver exceptional customer service and try to always go above and beyond for the customer.

While I was wrong in making the arguement that making 10 nextdoor accounts is not unethical, for me It’s pretty low on the things that will get you on my ■■■■ list

if you guys want a tip for nextdoor bumps, comment on your post “all quotes are free” and delete then repost it every day or whenever. it should go back to the top of the feed.

Delete the post or comment? My problem with that is I can only target my specific neighborhood which is like 50 ppl

From my understanding I thought you had to be invited by another person to be able to talk to their neighborhood

Correct. I’m lucky because my area considers a very large area all the same “Neighborhood” which is amazing.

I just made a post for sale and keep renewing it, reaches my whole city and not just my neighborhood

delete the reply then post it again. my nextdoor will cover a few thousand users so i’m able to get a job or two for free every now and then from it.
