Ladder Safety

How would you guys get up to the 2nd story? My tip will shoot about 15 ft but I’m not too sure on how to gwt it to the 2nd story.

BTW this is a roof wash.

Lol yea Im having a tough time. Maybe I should just pass on this one.

Is using a ladder out?

I would shoot from the gutter line off of a ladder. If you don’t feel comfortable doing so include a lift into the price. We don’t have tile roofs where I’m at so not sure if you can walk them but, if you can, that would be an easy one to walk if you’d feel more comfortable doing that. @florida_condo_cleani does a lot of tile roofs.

Why are you only getting 15’ distance? What pump are you using?

No I have a 17 ft ladder.

Buy a bigger ladder? I think a lot of guys have 24’ and 28’. Just use proper ladder safety. Good luck!

I’m using this little 12 v unit. It says 17’ but honestly I think it gets more like 15’.

Replace the pump with a 5.5 or 7GPM. Dual deep cycle batteries should get you 35-40FT with 1/2 line.

Here’s a couple more pics

All my trucks carry a 16, 28 and 40 ft ladder. That pretty much covers any roof we need to get on to clean gutters

thats what I was thinking, a bigger ladder. With proper safety of course. Would you shoot from the sides of the house then, cause the front has that 1st floor blocking my access to the 2nd story.

Cool, seems like I just need to get a taller ladder then hit it from the sides of the house?

I don’t clean roofs and don’t plan to till next year when I build my enclosed trailer, but even with a ladder reaching every edge of this roof, I can’t justify spraying with only 15’ distance will be enough to reach the center and clean every roof. If you want to stay on a ladder that’s fine, I’m all about safety as I work as an air traffic controller in the tower on a military base 40 hours a week and do Pressure Washing around it until I get out. But you need to upgrade your softwash system and tips. You should be able to spray 30-40 feet

That may be your best option for now. Once you’ve upgraded equipment you may be able to tackle jobs like this one. You’ll have to make that decision for yourself. Either way, good luck with it.

I wouldn’t attempt that house without a 12V system that would shoot 35-40FT.

32ft ladder and a little bit of courage.
If your not comfortable getting up there then don’t . Passing on a job won’t kill you. Getting nerves and trying to walk on soap covers tile roof can

Cool thx for all the info guys. I ended up passing on the roof, but the owner asked if I’d wash his walkway and driveway though!

I would never walk on a tile roof personally, too slippery when wet ,and you have to know the exact spots to walk on so as not to break them
