Tried a swivel for awhile (and still have it on my spare gun). Made things marginally easier, but wasn’t worth the added weight, IME (in my experience)
Before people start getting confused: we should be careful to specify zk1.
But I would say, try a flow unloader in general. But it’s sounding like the zk1 is the winner among them.
This one correct? ZK1
That’s the one
I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic makes the ZK1 easier to use but you set it just like a pressure trapped unloader. No orifices and no fuss.
@DisplacedTexan it didn’t change my hose management procedure but it’s far easier to drag hose without pressure in the line. Makes that 10 hour 100 degree day a little easier.
This is really going to bake your noodle. They all have ZK designations. ZK1, ZK5, ZK7 then you can add your orifice size if you’re running the K5 and K7. For instance I run the ZK5.1
So the orifice size you need determines the ZK number?
… No
I have a k7 on 5/3000 and love it. I didn’t know there were issues until I started digging. I set mine with my 0 degree tip no psi gauge, and held the trigger set the bypass until it had just drops coming out. I have since checked it with a gauge and everything is good. I’d personally buy another one.
Oh snap!
I wonder what happened to zk3 (or all the even numbers)…
I’m confused, that is not a exhaustive list. There is a K3 unloader. I was just saying they all have Z’s in front so that unloader is technically called a ZK3 then . followed by the orifice size
Oh and there are no even numbers in Italy you should be asking why the ZK1 came out last
Sorry for the confusion, I was just being silly. And I’d actually forgotten that there was a (z)k3 in the lineup.
…Doh
If all that sounds confusing, buy a plain ole pressure unloader. If you don’t want instant pressure on the nozzle, pull the trigger slowly.
