I’m curious what people are paying monthly. I’m just doing residential for now as I’m just getting started. The cheapest quote I’ve received from Next Insurance is $218/month and doesn’t cover stolen equipment. This is for $1m coverage, including umbrella, making $40K/year. Does this sound good? Should I try local insurance companies? Thank you in advance for your help!!
Try Erie. But you may want them to clarify, or I could be wrong but the 1M is general liability and umbrella is a separate policy. I pay for 1M per occurance GL and a 2M umbrella - two separate policies. If you’re just doing residential I wouldnt think you would need an umbrella policy.
My first year working the premiums were through the roof… I don’t think they were that high, maybe like $120… just the nature of the beast.
$2364 for my 1 million general liability that covers soft washing roofs up to 3 stories and over spray damage.
That is for the year but I really can only work maybe 6 months and of course I can’t get a 6 month only policy
It’s through gaslamp insurance. If I end up doing schools or churches, I need to call them up and add additional insurance and that’s another 800 or so for the year, so I wait and see if any come my way first before blindly purchasing that.
I just started looking last week tried a local place who said they couldn’t help me then called Allstate who said they got a quote from someone for 18,000 a year for residential and commercial 1 mill coverage no equipment or anything. I have less than one year experience but I also said I would not be doing roofs and plan on around 10,000 a year so I don’t know why such a crazy number.
Two vehicles, PW and WC insurance, trailer and contents $500/mo through Erie
Thanks everyone for your responses…I really appreciate it! This gives me an idea as to what I should be looking for. Have a great week everyone!!
I’m at about $1200/yr for 1mm/occurrence, with an inland marine rider that covers equipment.
I haven’t been on the forums much over the last few years, but I feel like this is important to share. When I first started I was getting quotes in 2017 from Farmers Insurance (who I had my auto policy with) and other regular insurance companies. Most of them were outrageously expensive or just wouldn’t cover most of the stuff that we need to be covered. You need to go to an insurance company that specializes in pressure washing insurance. Go to Joseph D Walters. I have $2 million coverage, $60,000 in equipment coverage plus $50,000 for my Reclaim Trailer and I am paying about $2200 per year.
Please take note that I am talking about General liability, NOT auto insurance. I have progressive commercial for my auto insurance.
You don’t need inland marine unless you have a lot of loose stuff in the trailer that isn’t bolted down
I just signed on with Hiscox for a general liability/$762 a year - thats for bare minimum coverage no auto
