News isn’t scam. I meant people in the cleaning industry pitching that nonsense to insurance companies. Contractors actually tell them not cleaning roots is unhealthy, damages shingles, raises electricity bills etc. Shameless. It’s like washing vinyl siding. You clean it so it looks better. That’s all.

Nothing does more damage to shingles, than sun and heat…do you think the insurance companies want us to cover our houses to keep the sun and heat off the roof?
well Im going to use it to better my business… I get $250 to clean 1/2 a roof which most bad spots are one side… I get $500 to clean a whole roof both sides…

From a marketing perspective, it’s definitely a marketing point. Ethically tho, should you use it? That’s up to you, I guess. But just because something was done once, somewhere, doesn’t really mean it’s hard evidence that applies everywhere. But people do believe whatever they’re told, most of the time.
