Injector with check valve

Personally, I think it makes more sense to just get the proportioning injectors from Dultmeier. I’ve been running the same one for close to 2 seasons now. The hastelloy spring has never gone out on me, despite forgetting to rinse it out on more than a couple occasions.

I did blow an o-ring on the barb fitting last year, but replaced that with a viton one and been good ever since.

If you need a stronger mix, boost it with a 12v, or pull out the xjet or your dedicated bleach pump. But more often than not, you need a more diluted mix, which is what the proportioning injector is great at. Dialing your straight bleach down to a safe house-wash ratio.

My 8gpm really dilutes the SH down, it would be nice not having to hit gutters 2-3 times. I even bought some really fresh bleach but not much change.

I have to wonder why these GP injectors are so small. If you think about it, the actual inlet is what, 1/6”? If you could just increase the size to 3/8” with corresponding ball and spring a lot of these issues would be solved.

Can’t seem to find anything like that on their website, could you link us the one you have because that sounds well worth pickup if it’ll last that long

I will change to straight SH right from the pale for bad gutters and go back to my regular mix for the house. I hate wasting time on filthy gutters.

I know this won’t work for Bill and his 18 story beach houses but if gutters are real bad in spots I’ll even pull out the pump up sprayer and hit them with a strong mix in spots. You can hit second story gutters if you pump it up real good.

If you mean downstream straight SH, that’s what I do all the time. It comes out really weak.

Found it, gonna order a couple and see how they work

The humble injector as we know it was never designed specifically for us contractors to use with bleach and exterior cleaning and tailored sh ratios that we need for certain surfaces, it’s original purpose is to dispense soap on things you would clean with just a surfactant and a brush, change the tip and rinse. Every pressure washer known to man comes fitted with an injector nowadays. The injector allows a homeowner to disperse soap a lot more efficiently through an injector than a bucket of soapy water like a homeowner would soap a car for example, but more than half don’t know how to use it or what it does. It just happens to be that they work for us because commercial bleach around the world comes in strengths of 12-15% and also that we happen to clean most none porous things with a ratio of .7 to 1.2% without killing every single plant that Karen has around her home so they go hand in hand.

I’ve only had a few weeks, but still works so far. He’s a little cheaper I think.

@dcbrock I have an 8.6 gpm machine and it definitely dilutes my mix more than my 5.5 but if I use straight SH I can clean gutters in one pass or get the greenest siding clean in a few minutes. Is it a recent thing or has been an issue with multiple injectors? I’ve had injectors not draw as much as another. They are definitely not consistent. I’ve had new ones stop working in 2 weeks and others last 6 months. I use 2.1 with my 8 with 200 - 250 of hose.

The algae here may be a bit different, it’s not typically green, more of a multi-layer brown. It’s years of growth cycles and takes a couple applications.

I get that here too. I can usually get most gutters clean with one pass of down streaming but the thick stuff requires a few applications. I usually hit it with my 2nd story rinse nozzle to agitate it too. That’s about the only thing I use it for. I guess I hit some wasp nests with it too.

Try the pump up next time. I know it’s not always possible but you can usually hit 2nd story too. Only take a minute to do. I know I don’t need to tell you this but is more for new guys who run across the thread. Watch the stronger mix on windows, shutters, etc and just rinse them off if you happen to get any on them.

This is the best pump sprayer out there. I’ve tried a lot and this one can shoot a stream easily 10 plus feet from tip of wand. Get up on an 8 foot A-frame and you could hit anything. I never rinse it out and keep sh in it at all times. It will easily last me 6 months. It’s the stream is adjustable to fan too.

I use a pump sprayer on every job. Foundations, steps, concrete porches, small concrete pads.

I have one of those Chapin pump ups and they are nice pumps. You can see the viton seals on it. I got to where I buy those cheap red pump ups from Wal-Mart for like $8. They have a lifetime warranty if you wanted to mess with returning or exchanging. I usually just buy like 10 of them beginning of season cause I like having one for each chem. Those things will shoot 25 feet if you pump them up real good. My SH pump lasted a full season. That Chapin you posted is definitely a lot better quality that the Wal-Mart sprayers and will last longer. Maybe use the Chapin for SH and the cheap Wal-Marts for everything else?

Do you rinse yours out or just keep chems in them ready to go?

I use the walmart ones as well and the pump up itself seems to be pretty good viton seals and the such but my spring always rusts out then it won’t stop spraying. I looked into the warrenty and it was more of a hassle than just going to buy another for 12 bucks. I’m going to look into buying 30 springs for it and I bet itll last ages

My roundup pump up just went bad on me, it looks like the screw on pump sealed the container but when tipped over it pours out like crazy. Doesn’t hold pressure anymore, but then again, it’s so cheap, I just toss them and get new ones. Just another business expense

I just leave the chems in them ready to go. It might not hurt to have one pump up with clean water so you can at least rinse out the wand. But, like Tyler said, for the price they’re basically throwaways. He must be spending the big bucks on the 2 gallon sprayer?.. The one gallon are less than $8 but you have to refill more which stinks. I had a couple but didn’t care for the nozzle. It’s one of those that turns to one of 4 different spray patterns. Main reason is because you can’t get much height with them. I’m assuming that’s the one that has the spring because mine rusted up within a few weeks. I ended up putting a wand from the one gallon sprayer on it. It’s just a basic that adjusts from stream to mist.
