I’m going through injectors a lot, some stop pulling after 3 jobs, I have spares so I just swap one in.
Since I use a 3 way valve and manually switch from soap to water (have a drop stick in my water tank) it’s always being rinsed since I don’t control my injector using high pressure tips, I always use soap tips and just switch from soap to water.
Assuming the injectors ball and spring are getting stuck, do I even need the guts in the injector or can they be removed since I’m always “pulling”?
Rinse those bad boys after each use….that will help the most. You can replace the guts but I just have spares on hand at all times. Pitch the old one out……just part of doing business.
They are rinsed all the time, I have the 3 way going to my buffer tank so when I rinse the house it gets rinsed.
Wondering if I even need the internals of it anyway.
Well….mine last up to 5 months…I’ve had some go out sooner, like couple months but usually get good amount of time on them before replacing. Although I’ve heard some going out in a week…so not sure what the deal is. Are they GP injectors?
If they get stuck just put I small wire in the hole to get it unstuck. Do you use the injector daily?
The internals create a seal to keep the flow from blowing the 1/4 inch tube off your injector when you let go of the trigger.
Thanks for the info. Would a clamp on it circumvent that or am I just asking for trouble?
And yes they are gp injectors but not used every day.
without the spring and ball you just have a nozzle blowing water. Never clamp the line. If the ball doesn’t seat and it starts blowing it will fill your bleach tank or water tank. always best to let the line blow off

Just put mine back together this week from when I got the upgraded parts kit. I still have like 8 injectors in my parts kit JIC 
What is the upgraded info? I’m open to a more reliable injector.
This was from last season. There was an issue with the…crush washer? I’m sure he can explain it better. Im barely able to type as is. It pulls hard and if it lasts as long as everyone says it does, I’m in. I keep a ton of those other injectors on hand because you never knew when they were going to go
To catch you up, I designed a downstream chemical injector with a integrated check valve that is very robust. The ball is a ceramic and the seal/seat is formulated with a proprietary engineering plastic. It’s very thick and pretty heavy duty given the application. There’s no o-ring used inside the check and there’s also no spring! I’ll link a video where I discuss the Gen 1. The Gen 2 is a second revision that refined a few things.
I used to go through a ridiculous amount of injectors until i ordered PW Gadgets Golden Standard injector last year. Still going strong. Worth it. A time saver.
Do you have a filter on your drop tube?
I used a noname adjustable injector for about 60 washes before I got something different. Still works, sitting in my spare parts bin. I have a filter on my drop tube and injector is always pulling water when rinsing.
Filters create obstruction which will adversely affect the draw rate & would probably melt in some fresh hot sauce. Toss it out in the grass & hit it with a lawnmower.
Works fine for me on a 2.3 injector with 6gpm.
Treat yourself to some of the fancy DSI filters that @dperez sells on his site. They’re great. Just hefty enough to keep the tube in the solution and they don’t seem to affect draw rate whatsoever on my 8.5 or 5.5 with the Gold Standard injectors.
