If you had 5 grand

This is all true. I guess he’ll just have to go for it though I do think it’s not the best time of year to be starting up in this industry. Then again, yesterday was my one year anniversary in business so maybe I’m wrong

Price out a 5.5 3500 Hydro Tek slimline machine. Would be your best bet for your van size wise and is a great machine. Probably looking at around $6k

That’s the plan once I make a little money. The van isn’t ideal, but its the best use of my money at this point. I want to be sure to save enough money for marketing, plumbing, a surface cleaner and chemicals. The positive is, I don’t need this to make a full time living right off the bat. I can grow it slowly and it wont hurt me a bit.

Hey Texan. I am not starting until spring. I am building my system and marketing it over the winter. I will launch next year in the spring.

True @DisplacedTexan . But ya’ll rez washers retire for the winter. Us truck and commercial fellas wash all year ,weather permitting.Truck washers can never take a break, good in one aspect, bad on the other

Well there ya go! That’s probably the smart way to do it.

If at all possible, you should try to shadow a couple of companies that do different things. You may hate residential, some do. You may hate fleet washing, too. Also, fleet washing is a different animal altogether. The chemicals seem to only be affordable when buying in bulk (@Hotshot can tell you all about that) and most jobs require some pretty stout chemicals that I wouldn’t be too interested in touching but ol’ Hotshot works with them everyday and he’s still halfway sane so…

Dont most fleet washers have a huge buffer tank kr is that just these rednecks around here.

I have thought about that also… only problem is Ill be the only guy within a 100 miles. There really isn’t anyone to shadow. Plus Im a full time business student, work full time, and have a wife, a 3 year old and 4 month old at home. So I’m not sure when I’ll even be able to go clean trucks or houses, let alone find the time to shadow someone. I’m kind of at a point I just gotta jump in and go and learn from experience. I got plenty of friends crap to mess up before I start charging people.

Ah, I see. Where are you located again?

west/central Nebraska. North Platte to be exact.

Yeah you’re probably surrounded by fleets. Are you a Huskers fan?

You know it!! GBR!!

I have a 350 on 1 trailer with 2 machines on it, 500 gallon on the other with another machine, then I got two 350 totes staged @ each of my heavy hitters plumbed together with Hudson valves to not tote so much water.

LOL my banker is a Huskers grad and I’m a Longhorn fan so we have a good time. I’ve always like Nebraska because they’re OU’s stepdaddy lol

Lol. Miss the old BiG 8 and 12 days. We had actual rivals in that conference. We’ve been crap since joining the big 10, but should be turning around.

The only problem I see y’all really struggling to overcome is recruiting. Frost did well at UCF but Florida is a breeding ground for talent. Nebraska puts out some great big guys but very few skill players of note. I think y’all will do much better this season though so that will give you a good bump.

Sorry, I’m derailing threads again.

Yes, meet up with @GeorgeNicholson and see if you can lend a hand and learn something.

Actually we’ve had pretty good recruiting up here. We had a terrible coaching staff. We’ve been consistent top 25 recruiting classes for a while. The development wasn’t there. I think that is fixed. Our QB is definitely special and should be on anyone’s Heisman short list. A lot of hype surrounding him. But yes, I will definitely reach out to George in the future and see if we could link up.

I think to compete with the elite teams nowadays you really need consistent top 10 recruiting classes. Charlie Strong was recruiting top 15 classes at Texas and never developed anyone and we just had our first 10 win season in almost a decade. I just want to see Nebraska get back to their old ways and match up with OU and throttle them like the good old days. Hell, I’d buy tickets to that game haha
