How would you tackle this roof?

So here is the story.
This is my own home. Bought it last spring, and tried to clean the roof last summer (I knew nothing about roof cleaning at that time).
There was this small part, shady, heavy moss. Tried different products from homedepot. Finally heard of softwash, and tried with household bleach. Pictures are before treating with bleach.
I was not sure what killed the moss finally, but the dead moss would still not come off. Especially the highlighted shade area. I had to manually brush it with a wire brush. It was just a very small area. But if it were a large area, it would not be an easy job.

I should probably describe it in more details.
The moss turned dry and became something like dead dry tree skins, somewhat firmly attached to the tiles, especially the corners.

Call a professional in your area that does cedar roofs, it that is what that is. Pay him but watch him.

Grab a ladder and spray it with bleach. If you dont have a ladder you can use a trampoline to get you high enough to hit it. On the higher parts you might need to hire a 2nd man to double jump you.

Thanks, @Grizz
I did spray household bleach, although not with a trampoline~

Just curious about ‘tree skins’, are u meaning tree bark or something else ?

Yes, I mean tree bark. Dead and dry, but firmly attached to the corners. Had to manually remove with a wire brush

Moss will turn white in about 10mins when you hit it with a good bleach mix. It will eventually fall all in the rain.

So in general, you don’t need to rinse after a roof wash correct? Just let the next rain do it?

That looks like a shake cedar roof. If it is, I would hire a professional who specializes in wood restoration. Or you could just not worry about it.

That is correct but @sgb said it might be a shake cedar roof. Idk about that one. I thought it was a shingle roof.

I’m pretty sure it’s concrete slate tile. I clean roofs all the time that look just like that . It is hard to tell from the picture though.
It’s pretty straight forward how to handle it but I’m not here to teach home owners so they don’t have to hire contractors like us.
