I got a brick to clean tomorrow, not sure how I should go about doing this. I have a m-jet. Any ideas?
I think they want me to focus on the very top.

Ladder and turbo nozzle
I have no ladder and not going on one, any other options, or am I screwed?
Yep…
Can I use an extension wand?
Sounds like a career change is in order. Hard to work without equipment. Even harder if you refuse to use it.
There is no need for a career change. I am looking for safe solutions to common problems to reduce liability for myself and my employees.
I do however appreciate the advice.
Can I use a wand?
I recently read a thread about cleaning chimney tops on a Facebook pressure washing group. One guy said he didn’t necessarily need pressure, but it does take strong chemicals. He said he usually x-jets straight SH, washes the house, x-jets the chimney again, and rinses. A 12V pump will shoot a stronger mix than an x-jet, if you have one. He also recommended a masonry restorer product, that ill link at the bottom.
I dont know if his information is accurate, im just passing it along. Your chimney might require pressure to clean it, like the guys are saying above. He did post some before/afters of some really dirty chimneys that came clean, although there is no way to tell if he really only used chemicals, or if he gave them a little pressure as well.
Are you doing the rest of the building, or just the chimney? If doing the rest, try to clean it from the ground, and if you cant get it clean, deduct it from the bill. If they only want the chimney cleaned, same thing… try to clean it from the ground, and if you cant, chalk it up to a learning experience.
Not necessary to change careers…just don’t agree to jobs that you will not do. It is too easy to simply pass on those jobs.
As others have said, don’t let the customer dictate what work you do or how you do it.
I don’t blame you…I will not be working off a ladder, either.
never mind
I am most likly doing brick next year. However this one brick they want cleaned.
Thanks, I was just under the impression that this was going to be one of the bricks with mold on the side of it. I guess it is my fault for not checking first.
I have one of those poles brand new in the box you want to buy mine?
That looks about 2.5 stories tall if you have at least a 4gpm machine you should be able to hit that from the ground safely.
You can rent the poles at your equipment rental place if you don’t need but on that job
Don’t you think homeowners would be laughing if they followed this trainwreck.
Name calling is not nice and by the way the other peoples suggestions worked just fine. There is more than one way to skin a cat, or in your case, crack a nut.
So what ended up working for you?
