In Hawaii I didn’t pay a dime for the corvette when I had it on Turo. Overall it averaged paying for itself by renting 10 days a month. That included insurance.
Here in Houston I’m charging more but renting it less. Mainly because I’m busy and don’t have a best friend to tag team the pickups with Etc.
Turo depends on the car, location, and your pricing. I like it.
If you are worried about theft from at your storage yard or home office I’d recommend a camera that ties into your WiFi that notifies your phone when there is something detected. I have some of the Arlo cams at my house and I set one up right over the bed of my truck in my driveway. I get an immediate notification of movement anytime something goes near it, like the neighbor’s dog. Fortunately, haven’t caught any looters taking a looky loo.
That thought has crossed my mind! But, I’ll have the images / video of them already by the time they would get it. I have it high enough that they’d need to bring a ladder. The ladder on the truck is locked down.
Do you feel like its affected your car significantly? I know a car like a vette is going to be driven fast sometimes especially being rented makes me wonder about repairs and lifetime of the car
It’s just a car. I enjoy it’s fun. But I also enjoy sharing it. I’ll let anyone drive it anytime. Shrug. After I owned a few nice cars I realized I got more enjoyment sharing them. Of course I keep them clean and like new but that’s easy.
Are you talking out a rolling jack, a jack in general, or one that folds out of the way so you dont have to roll it all the way up everytime? I’ve been thinking about an electric one but maybe I’ve been thinking too much lately
The duel wheel jack. The most prominent thing in the photo lol. Only have to raise it a few inches then I can simply unpin and swing the whole jack horizontally with the trailer tongue. Plus the wheel helps move the trailer.
No need for an electric one if it swings up. Only have to turn the handle for 10 seconds before you can swing it out the way.
Yeah I knew you were talking about a jack just didnt know which part about it you liked Haha. I agree no need for electric when you have one that swings
Or, really be a hoss and get a gooseneck. Way overkill for what we do but there’s no denying that it’s a much more secure point of attachment for a trailer.
