How do you actually get the detergents into your pressure washer so you can apply onto surface you are cleaning?

I don’t know if this is something so basic that they don’t even have a video on it but I cannot for the life of me find a video or article explaining this in simplest terms to a noob like myself. All the videos I watch they show the person hooking up a garden hose and wand onto the pressure washer and start spraying. They explain how & where to connect the hose and wand, how to bleed out any air that may be trapped inside the wand, how to start up the pressure washer, and how to wash the house.

In the demonstrations they state that 1.) You rinse off the surface and surrounding area including anything such as plants and patio furniture (with water), 2.) apply detergents/chemicals from botton to top, 3.) let it dwell for 5-10 minutes, and 4.) finally you come back and rinse off (with water) the chemicals from top to bottom.

I understand that the chemicals is what does the cleaning not necessarily the pressure of the water. This is called soft washing and is commonly used on cleaning houses. (Which is what I want to be doing, residential work).

There are 3 methods of applying soaps/detergents/chemicals onto surface you are trying to clean: 1.) downstreaming 2.) x-jetting 3.) direct application. I understand that direct application is simply using a pump up sprayer, not the pressure washing machine, to apply detergents.

But in most videos people aren’t using a pump up sprayer. They are only using a pressure washing to both water and detergents on surfaces. I’m assuming because a pump up sprayer is just too time consuming.

YouTube how to downstream injector. I’m sure something will show you. If you can’t find it let me know.

You need a downstream injector. They come in different sizes, my rig is 4gpm so I have a 2.3 injector. Do a little more searching, this question has been answered before.

Having said that, sometimes I use a pump sprayer just for ease of use if its a small job.

If it’s any consolation I understand where it’s coming from… I usually have to do a little yoga and a couple minutes of zen meditation prior to responding these days.

My secret to staying reasonably zen? Changing songs lyrics to fit pressure washing.

Pump up the chem, pump it up
A pump it up yo pump it
Pump up the chem, pump it up
A pump it up yo pump it
Pump up the chem, pump it
Pump it up, yo, pump it
Pump up the chem, pump it
Pump it, pump it, pump it

Thank you for the honest reply. Much appreciated. Have a good day. I sometimes overthink things like this.

Since we are playing songs… if i show it to you comes to mind…

Will this give me better gas mileage?

Maybe.

The search option doesn’t do you much good if you’re so new you don’t even know what to search for. He’s obviously tried to find the solution on his own. Just answer the question or don’t say anything at all.
