How are you guys answering the phone?

These are bone conduction head phones. This pair finally gave out after a year and a half of everyday use. I literally wear these from the time i get in the truck through bed time. My wife actually has to get on to me for wearing them in bed while trying to visit haha. I DO feel like one of those losers with a blue tooth in back from the early 2000s but they are well worth it. Comfort is unmatched. They do not block any sound so i wear my usual ear muffs 90% of the time while working. If those start to dig and get uncomfortable, ill switch to ear plugs. Theyā€™re practically waterproof and an overall game changer for ease of use.

As far as phone quoting, take the information down and call them back: name, best contact number, email to send an estimate, and address. Ask if you can text the number or confirm its a cell phone and youll have somewhere to send review links later too. Ask what services they were interested in having quoted and how they found out about you. Then try to build rapport. Feel them out and go with the flow. Most home owners that call me want to give me tons of details about their house or tell me something anecdotal that i can use to keep the conversation going. If im out on a job ill keep it short and sweet but ill still try not to rush off the phone and make them feel like conveying their concerns are important to me. This stuff is crucial to win jobs, especially if the other guy they call comes out and quotes after you, heā€™ll likely get the job on the spot. Keep yourself competitive by making a great impression on that first phone call, if you are able. Make every customer feel important and maybe they wont need to even bother with that other guy.

This. If itā€™s just a standard two story I have a set price but once they mention porches, dormers, patios etc things go up quick.

We have neighborhoods with vastly different houses and I usually have to stop by on the way home to give an accurate assessment.

Edit: I see Iā€™ve been the nerd and crashed you allā€™s thread drift party.

Cumming! thats not far at all. Do you have any good place to get SH near us?

3 standard prices for houses depending on size and shape. Concrete, composite decks and vinyl fences can quickly be measured on Google. Politely say no to anything involving wood decks or fences. Quotes are quick and easy. No need to ever go look the property in person for me. Some houses are in worse condition than others, but some are easy and it all evens out in the end.

Petition to give @dcbrock the title of Thread Monitor. Itā€™s like a hall monitor for threads.

@qons make it so. Long as Brock is cool with it.

Ha, funny!

ā€œTriangle home detailing, this is Mike. How can I help you today?ā€

ā€œGreat! In order to provide an accurate quote I just need you first and last name, service address, and an email I can send the quote to.ā€

ā€œThank you! I will have that too you by the end of the day. Please feel free to reach out if you have an additional questions. Have a good afternoon!ā€

Take that info down, look up their info when you get back to your computer, send the quote.

Fun fact that I discoveredā€¦ buy them from Best Buy, and actually get the Geek Squad protection planā€¦ it covers water damage. I got myself a set of Bose QC45s and I know I likely wonā€™t need to buy a new pair for the foreseeable future!! The QC45s are not water proof, so you do need to keep them dry, but if the unexpected happens, then take ''em in for replacement (I donā€™t think they service these).

Yeah, it made the random news on a rock radio station in DCā€¦the whole time Iā€™m thinking ā€œthatā€™s old newsā€ :joy:

@TheWizard I blame you for making me spend this money and will hold you responsible if I donā€™t like them :stuck_out_tongue:

Was able to snag a pair of the anc ones for less than 50 bucks off ebay

You wonā€™t be disappointed sir! Time to get on Spotify or something if youā€™re not already.

Whey protein? Eat a steak my dude! Godā€™s protein right there

Itā€™s good stuff! Just got mine (although I too would opt for a steak when itā€™s convenient, but who wouldnā€™t? Ate 1 last night and have 2 more in the fridge waiting for me)

Sidenote, mine came in a box labelled ā€œiHerbā€ with white powder leaking out of it everywhereā€¦Iā€™m sure the Amazon guy was thrilled. They did give me my money back though, so Iā€™ll deal with putting it into something else. :joy:

Oh I do!

Soā€¦Iā€™ve been pretty out of shape since I quit fighting and enough was enough. Want to cut back down to 210 and have been experimenting with dieting with style. I eat one meal a day and can eat pretty much whatever I want for that one meal because itā€™s hard for me to not eat at a calorie deficit as long as itā€™s once and with me weightlifting and doing jujitsu again, I just need to be at or less than 2500 calories for the day and Iā€™ll lose weight. The problem Iā€™ve been running into is itā€™s hard to get enough protein in one meal for the day so Iā€™ve been supplementing with protein powder.

Thread derailed! :joy:

Itā€™s hard getting older. At one time I was in incredible shape and since I stopped working out it just got worse and worse. Iā€™ve recently started going back to the gym a couple days a week and started paying attention to what I eat and that has helped. I swear by intermittent fasting, too. I eat one meal a day and feel so much better. My gut health has gotten way better, too.

That said, my dinner tonight:

Lol if your Amazon driver is anything like most of the ones Iā€™ve encountered he probably did a bump of it before he tossed it out. Just to get his head straight :joy:

The worst part is Iā€™m having to deal with a young buck that grew up in the gym Iā€™m at. Knew him when he was 13/14. Used to give him rides home, cornered his first fights, etc. And now at the ripe old age of 36, soon to be 37, Iā€™m on my way down, heā€™s on his way up, and Iā€™ll be damned if Iā€™m gonna let that pipsqueak beat me up without a fight so im trying to prolong the inevitable.
