How are you guys answering the phone?

Whenever I get a call im not sure exactly what I should be asking or what info to take down. I am not always at a computer where i can look at the house online right then so how would you handle remote quoting from a call? Do you even do remote quotes or are you going out to the job site every time and laying eyes on?

Thanks in advance

Know you neighborhoods. Just give the same price for every house in a subdivision.

I know this is crazy, but paper, you may have heard of it. I use a notebook - itā€™s this thing that has multiple pieces of paper and i use a pen. Write their name and number and a quick note of what they called about - a house wash, concrete etc. Make a standard price for a 1 story and 2 story house wash. At least by me most people have a cookie cutter vinyl village house.

I have a free estimates form on my website. I usually discuss what they need help with, if there is anything specific I need to know about (leaky windows or doors, problem areas and get an understanding of whatā€™s important to them and how long itā€™s been since they had things cleaned) then I ask them if they wouldnā€™t mind filling in the quick form on my website to ā€œget them into my systemā€ - this way, it reduces typos or me trying to read my handwriting later and Iā€™ve got all their info in one place so I can look up square footages, etc later to come up with a price when Iā€™m back at my computer.

Where are you located in Georgia?

I use my left hand normally. Unless the phone has paired itself with my truck, then I use the button on the right-hand side of the steering wheel.

there is just so much variation here. I could walk one street away from a jobsite and have a huge technical 2 story when i just came from a crappy 2 story vinyl

do you mind if i look at your website?

Im In woodstock north of atlanta

for house ask how many, stories, rooms, sq footage if possible.
for concrete, how many cars can be parked on it is pretty easy.
and whether vinyl or Hardie or stucco, brick.
Maybe even ask to have a pic sent to you or adress.

I 'll talk to them a min about what they need and then ask them to text me all their contact info with address and Iā€™ll look at on google when I get in and call them back with a quote.

JLab Air Sport Bluetooth earphones. You can listen to music with them & it will stop to tell you ā€˜incoming callā€™ when someone calls. Touch the right earbud to answer & talk while you work. I love the memory foam tips. They are super comfy & double as hearing protection.

Not at all - www.j2ent.com - all of the free estimate forms on the site send the data to the same location.

Iā€™m in Cumming - not too far from you.

I tried a few brands and they all end up hurting the ears at the end of the day. I think iā€™ll try these ones as a last try.

Youā€™ll love them. Iā€™m going to get the fancy ones with ANC next time.

I have a couple pairs that I really like but I have the same issue after wearing them all day. I have cauliflower ear so anything that goes between my ear and scalp always annoys me after a while. To help this I got some ā€œbudā€ style ones that just pop right in the ear canal and they work great. They came with ear pieces too if you want to use them.

Theyā€™re cheap at Wally.

My brother has those and he tells me good things. Just wish they had the removable ear piece option. Not as secure that way though.

Look up JLab Executive ANC. They donā€™t go over the ears but still have memory foam tips.

Oh now thatā€™s more my style. When these give up the ghost (theyā€™re surprisingly good for their cost) Iā€™ll grab a pair of those to try out. I wanted the Google buds but I refuse to spend that much money on earbuds lol

only 30?! and the quality is good??

Iā€™ve had the JLab Air Sports for almost 2 years. They were like $69 or so. I love them. The $99 ones have ANC & a longer battery life. The quality is fabulous. The memory foam feels like wearing the foam ear plugs & work just about as well for hearing protection. The ear tips need replaced about once a year if you abuse them like I do haha. They also charge while theyā€™re in the box. Iā€™ve booked a lot of jobs talking to a fresh customer while both hands are busy taking care of another one. First job I used them on, I booked 2 customers in the first 30 minutes without slowing down. I canā€™t put a number on how valuable they have been. ZZ Top & AC/DC are the cherry on top!
