House Washing with 8.5 gpm

You’ll love it. I had to use my 4gpm, which has the standard unloader that came with it, all day long doing a deck from hell couple of weeks ago and felt like I’d been kicked by a mule the next day.

Yea i use a 3ft lance so it’s not terrible for me, but I saw u using a short gun and I was puzzled how you were holding the camera and gun with ease lol.

That makes sense thanks!

Hey @Codysmith5345 here is a screenshot from their website: http://www.xteriorsales.com/90.html

They are also available from Power Wash Store, Southside, and a few others. As @Racer mentioned, different size nozzles based on the machine’s volume.

They’re right on with their distances. Knock off the 5’ lance and that’s about what I get with each that I have. That’s on a 0 wind day.

What did you end up having to do on that one?

Someone asked about how unloader mounted on Block - took this today

I never could get the ZK7’s to run within spec for more than 4 months after they got a little wear in them, I was even running one size down so I moved over to Generals ZK1 and I have been happy ever since

I go thru 4 zk1’s a year at least, great unloaders but I wish they would last like a trapped pressure unit. Have tried to lube them to make last longer but no Bueno. Regards

Yup you have to pay to play. I wouldn’t want to wash day in and day out without all my little tricks to make my job almost too easy. Hell when you have competetiors running 4k psi with heavy steel wands and 3/8" R2 hose and no heat, using cap fulls of soap, trapped pressure unloaders etc. you can count on it keeping you in business since you will be able to run really lean and be extremely competitive while providing a unmatched service. Of course this all pertains to what I specifically do. I wouldn’t take my setup and go wash a train or a parking garage.

@Racer have you had any trouble soaping with the K7? I just bought one with my 8gpm/3500psi pressure washer and have seen some things about the unloader being “finicky” when DSing.

Never. Why would the unloader have anything to do with downstreaming?

Not sure. Looks like @squidskc just posted a video about it and there is some good discussion in that thread. Thanks for your quick reply!

I have a 8gpm with built in pressure gauge, when using my M5 it reads about 1800 psi,but I am only getting about 30’ distance . Any way to reach greater heights ?

Are you getting a pretty tight stream? You might be able to go down a size to reach a little higher but you’ll also gain more pressure even when you have it set as a fan spray pattern. Guy’s Shooter Tip is awesome to get some more reach.

I have Shooter tip or Assassin nozzle for my old 4 gpm machine and get about 30’ reach with it. Will going to a 8 gpm Shooter/Assassin make that big or a difference. Would uping the pressure setting help ?

If your shooter nozzle was offered in different sizes, then the 4 gpm one will actually get you more reach than the 8 gpm one, I believe. Guy’s shooter nozzle only comes in one size. The orifice size seems to be around 0045.

Maybe the unloader isn’t set right on your unit, 30 ft doesn’t sound right for a 8 gpm with a shooter tip.

@Racer do you use a remote ball valve to turn soap on and off with the M5 or do you manually turn something / pull draw stick

Still use a remote

Manually turn ball valve on DS injector bypass set up. Going to adjust flow control unloader and see what happens. Will up date latter, thanks for input
