House Washing Packages - Pricing Help

I’m definitely a fan of over the phone pricing. We use Responsibid and can get pretty accurate pricing fast over the phone. That being said selling in person is better. We’re trying to get high tickets so I try to upsell anything I see and can better understand my customers needs in person. Also closing ratio is much better when they meet you and like you. Just sold a $480 outside window cleaning to a lady who said she’s been having it done for $50 the past 20 years but he retired. She about fell over when I told her the price but she liked me so she still booked the job.

I use Markate and just have certain sqft ranges for 1 & 2 storey homes and then add-ons for walkout basement, garages, etc. Some places I make less because they’re at the very high end of the range, but unless its right in my town a site visit is going to cost me $50 minimum. I only do a site visit if I see something weird on Google Maps I want to see in person before I agree to the job.

As a consumer, getting a call back, let alone a quote from home service providers is a nightmare. I think just getting back to the customer same day with a price puts you in the top 20% of competition.

You can get a little more accurate in person vs. over the phone. The thing is, how many “more accurates” would you need to do in a day to offset the cost? I’d wager you’re paying more $$s or spending more time than you would ever recoup in benefits. The only time virtually anything “odd” becomes a problem is if the client is a problem themselves from the start. If you’re able to either overcome that or ferret them out over the phone, then there’s not a whole lot to be gained there either. If we do run into something we can’t figure out, we ask them to text a few pics. If they seem put out by doing that, we just explain it’s far less inconvenience than having to spend an hour walking and talking with us
