Had a good day, wanted to share

@csteez check this out. Read everything he posted about it. Especially the part about becoming a believer in it being a very viable up sell.

Great stuff, basically exactly what I was thinking about.

@patriotspwashing I think there will always be the opportunity for window cleaning but the question is would it be worth your time.

I think maybe only the best of the best window cleaners would average even close to $100, this is mop & squeegee trad work.

The WFP after a house wash is a no brainer add on. I am thinking I won’t even offer indoor window cleaning unless I can do it with a unger speed clean kit or if I set up a monthly or quarterly account because then I would know the first time might be a pain but the next time around it will be a breeze with the unger speed kit.

If you do one time residential indoor window cleaning, you will run into folks who have dogs & kids that will require you to really scrub them down so the 100 a hour is not happening. You’re looking at maybe 50 if bid right, in some cases much less.

So offer window cleaning indoors or move on to another house wash?

Personally I would only offer it in a package but definitely not doing window cleaning only ever again. & will limit anything indoors.

Save your money and just buy a 1/2 cube DI tank. Backpacks are just for quickie jobs or hard to access areas.

Call an expert like John Lee or Alex at Window Cleaning Resource instead and they’ll guide you through the whole set up

Distilled water is a waste of money for window cleaning. At 10-14 gallons that’s what $10 or more for a water that’s way more pure than you need. Distillation removes bacteria and other organisms that windows don’t care about. You’d be much happier and saving time, labor, and money with a simple DI tank set-up or R/O DI tank setup over a back pack and distilled water.

Just sharing my experience of how to into WFP cheap and stress free.

I get DI water for 22 cents a gallon …normal cost of water for a house is $3…

How much is resin? Either way I’ll take a 2% operating cost.

I don’t WFP for 8 hours a day… maybe 30-45 minutes a day.

If I WFP 8 hours a day (which I hope to grow the window side next season) then I would definitely go another route.

Hence the reason for high prices, I don’t want to WFP all day for $2 a pane like most do.

Here’s a video of simple and inexpensive DI tank setup. You get a tank 1/2 the size of Luke’s if you aren’t doing that much work.

Nothing wrong with that. I was just chiming in because there’s a more efficient and cheaper way to do it. Your backpack needs to constantly be re-charged which means remembering to charge it, and it will eventually quit altogether, which means repair or replacement. You have to buy distilled water somewhere which means you have to drive there and either they fill a tank for you or you get 5 gal containers. Either way you have material handling costs and issues associated with buying pure water. If your TDS is low enough you will save money with a simple DI tank setup and making your own water. There are many ways to achieve the same result, I’m just showing you a simpler way.

I need your input. I’m putting a bid in on a power wash job and they would like the windows Clean as well. I want to show you the windows in question but not sure how to post them on here. Do you have an email so I can send you photos of them. Not sure what to charge for Windows. Thanks

Is there a way to do an inexpensive R/O DI tank setup instead of just DI? TDS in my area is around 500.

I think whats great about the backpack setup patriot offered is the price differences, but of course there is a trade off to what you pay. I would love to do my own R/O DI tank setup but i wonder if there is a way to do it inexpensively.

There’s tons of window cleaning info on windowcleaningresource.com
