Had a good day, wanted to share

We will need to talk more once I get my wash set up and get out advertising. You sound like you know what you’re doing

Hudson 4 gallon electric back sprayer off amazon $120. (Some bad reviews, I’ve used the crap out of myne for 2 years with zero issues)

Call J Racenstein and tell them you are using a Hudson backpack and they will know exactly what fittings you need. Also get the small silver ball valve from them…order two (Instead of the big white one I have that connects the wfp hose to the back pack sprayer hose)

The Hudson hose and WFP hose are different size… I can’t remember off the top of my head but if you call them they will know exactly what barbs you need.

DI water can be achieved different ways…one way is distillation. You can literally buy distilled water from a store and use it in your WFP. Distilled water has a TDS of zero. On an average home I’ll use 10-14 gallons of water.

I also use the Gardner CLX 22. You can clean 99% of windows at the third level.

The small silver ball valve I have positioned in my line to be at the bottom of the pole when fully extended…I use that to control the on off

Hold on a sec… am I seeing this right? Are you rigging a backpack sprayer for a wfp? No disrespect, please explain. WFP setups are very expensive, if you have a better solution let us know.

I definitely didn’t invent it…people have been doing it for years. Yes, it works great for me… If I went into Window Cleaning full scale I would definitely go with a better set up. But for a few houses a week as an upsell its not to bad.

I completely understand that. As a window cleaner, that is my approach to PW. Any chance you could post a video or something with more info? I don’t use WFP, even though I am a window cleaner (trad method, 20 years), I would love to know how it works.

There are tons of videos on youtube… if you search water fed back pack you will find some videos as well.

WFP can be tricky even though its super easy.

Im not a big video guy lol

good tips patriotspwashing, thanks for suggesting this WFP setup.

Couple Q’s:

  1. Do you only offer exterior window cleaning when a customer gets a housewash? Have you offered exterior window cleaning as a standalone service without the customer wanting a housewash? I would love to use this setup for customers who would just want their windows cleaned.

  2. Have you ran into any issues closing a job since you offer just exterior windows? I’m wondering if a lot of potential customers turn down a job b/c interior window cleaning is not offered.

  3. Do you window clean height level windows the traditional method? Or do you also use this WFP setup for ground level windows as well?

Appreciate your help, Im very interested in this setup!

I don’t think you should offer any window cleaning if you are not able or prepared to also offer interior window cleaning.

I only offer as an add on… most of the horror stories you hear from using a WFP (spotted, streaky windows) are from fist cleans. House Wash mix helps clean the frames, and seals to prevent this.

Closing jobs… No not really, I don’t really advertise window cleaning…most of the people I upsell the idea to. Although a few request it off of our website.

I WFP everything. never use traditional… I hate traditional window cleaning

That’s because you are not a window cleaner.

And because I’m horrible at it. Lol

My next hire will be someone with window cleaning experience. So I can open that side up of a full service window cleaning. Aiming for next season

It’s interesting (to me), this particular job was a pleasant mix of pressure washing, and trad window cleaning.

Of course, the inside windows were my usual pro-style window cleaning.

The outside, I was able to PW the eaves and siding on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Then I used my brush (not water fed, just dawn) to scrub the exterior windows, and gave them a rinse with my PW.

I only needed the trad method wc for the main floor (to be sure of detail), and the interior.

Saved me a lot of time having both pw and trad wc at my disposal.

Good advice dan and patriot, I’ll keep that setup you mentioned above just as an add-on service. Although it would be nice to add more window cleaning work on the side…

It’s interesting seeing the flip side of things. @Patriotspwashing you offering window cleaning as an add on and Im starting to add pressure washing as a ad on for window cleaning.
Pretty cool WFP you have too!
