GX690 or Kohler 37 HP

Building a new poly chain washer got the frame and going with udor 8 gpm 3500 psi pump my last setup was 5 gpm and 5000 psi it had a 24 hp on it seemed like it was loaded up pretty good it will be my first 8 gpm was wondering if it would be an asset with the extra HP or over kill and I would be fine with the GX690 Thanks

The Honda will give you 8gpm at 3k. It’s what I use. Cheap to work on and cheap to replace. The kohler will give you the extra 500 psi if it’s important to you. Harder to get parts for kohler but still a good motor now that they went to efi. I’d stick with the honda personally.

What type of frame you using?

Bought the white one from water cannon it seems sturdy enough might add a plate to the top and drill out just the holes I need

White one? Have a pic of it ?

legs need to be welded to frame

Don’t mount anything bigger than a 13 hp to that. If your skid is bolted together you got trouble

Shoot I won’t even us that thing except for some measurements for a thick one to be built then got to get some welding done anyway don’t mind it got my trailer all tore apart giving it an overhaul thinks for the heads up

I go with another v belt setup in a minute but thought I would go with two washers this time so I figured the polybelt would be more compact also going with the hotbox so either can be hot washers picked up a 30gallon gas compressor the other day to setup air diaphragm and air for soda blasting do equally as munch sand blasting as I do residential work going with 8 gpm3000 psi and 5 gpm 5000 psi decided to go with Honda 690 on both

Maybe its just the picture, but those look like maybe 1/4" bolt holes. How’s it even go on that thing? My caveman brain can’t figure that skid out.

It’s the pic think this is what they are using from what I’ve seen on all of them guess with the bolts u can attach a handle or wheels just the holes to attach the cover are 1/4 guess its universal lol

If you’re gonna use bolted anything I just learned about these. Or I guess you could use loctite and serrated nuts.

Why the aluminum plate on the bottom can’t figure that one out??

Did you put a magnet on that? Pretty shiny aluminum. Its basically just sheet metal with folded edges. Maybe to stiffen it up?

sweet, how’d you go looking for them?
They might fail on hardened steel, I would guess, as the washers need to “bite” into the bolt AND the surface.
But the idea looks great! Where can you get them?

Just kinda stumbled on the video. YouTube suggests a ton of welding/engineering stuff for me.

found them on ebay.

Ya every thing on it a magnet won’t stick to it’s all aluminum even the cover for the belt it said something about some kind of heat shield it’s like it has a layer of something pressed between two shiney aluminum pieces on the piece underneath
