Get rid of thin crap and build your own!
My skid is a 3/8” thick, 18" wide C-channel, 30" long, 4" angle iron welded on the ends to stiffen her up and also give me a place to bolt this puppy down.
Did I mention she weighs 143lbs
Got all this from a scrap yard. Cost me about $60!
And yes, that’s a 37hp kohler
I can’t stress enough that you CAN NOT have any Flex in your skid! It must be rock solid. That 37hp will destroy your aluminum frame.

@FrankPeters Could you help me on more info on your setup that’s nice. I have the Kohler command pro 25 and its treated me well.
I dont think hes around anymore but go to his profile and he has another post explaining more about it… it’s a poly chain setup with a 10.4 legacy pump and that 37 hp Kohler
I’ve reached out to him privately to ask him some more questions about his build but lately he hasn’t responded. I’m trying to build a similar machine. Envirospec has a pretty good price on the Kohler 37hp mounted to their 9.8/3000 pump on a skid for a pretty fair price.
I was wanting to run the Legacy pump through a geardrive but not sure if it’s possible?
If you have any questions might as well ask them here, I run a 35hp vanguard with the 10.4 legacy it’s not a custom built skid or poly chain.
A lot of people have questioned the ability to use gear drive on more powerful machines I think the biggest people have used is an 8gpm on the biggest predator engine @SchertzServicesLLC … I’m sure it would work, the question is for how long will it work
Im here guys. Haven’t logged on in awhile. Actually forgot about this group lol
Anyways, my legacy 10.4/3625 paired with the Kohler 37hp is running strong! Its a beast.
