Good Deal for Full-timer?

I realize I could build it cheaper but if I do, the rig MIGHT be ready in December
I’m more interested in your thoughts on the specific equipment (Hydro Max) and set-up.
The wife and I were talking last night and it is about time to make the leap to full time…I’m tired of working for “the man” 40 hours a week and not having any control over my time and schedule. Anyway, I’ll keep doing the new home construction but we’re setting up a web-site, planning advertising, etc. to get the residential/commercial going.

Not a good deal, no matter how you add it up. A vendor that lies about specs and thinks working two guys off of an 8 gpm machine is not a vendor to be trusted.

$18,000 for that? No way he’s trying to sell it for that much! Don’t be a fool. You can build the same thing for much much cheaper.

As I mentioned above…I don’t have time. Full time job (that is 63 miles from home), 2nd job cleaning business/pressure washing, 2 kids with soccer practice and tournaments, MBA classes, wife.

When it comes to projects there is a balance between time, money and quality and they are all interconnected.

Then buy it. It’s not a good deal but you don’t need validation from a group of people on the internet to make a decision for you.

Just about anytime you pay someone else to do something, it costs more…“I realize I could build it cheaper”
Next time I’ll only post this…
“I’m more interested in your thoughts on the specific equipment (Hydro Max) and set-up.”

Having said that. If you want two guys working get a trailer with two machines. Also you’re not gonna get 4000 psi and 8gpm out of that.

@TDCServices Why do you want the soft wash package, too? They have cheaper set-ups without that.

I have two uses for a separate “soft wash” system. The first is to get enough SH on roofs. I can do it with my 20% downstream but it took me 3 passes last time when there was some really nasty build-up on the roof. The second is that I use a lot of F9 on the new construction houses to remove the red clay stains from the garages, porches and driveways. I waste a lot of time mixing 2 gallon batches and using a hand sprayer. That is why I just bought the 12v pumps from Northern Tool. I am building a 26 gallon tank (way overkill) kit for that purpose.
If I have the separate soft wash system for roofs I won’t have to worry about mixing the F9 and SH which makes Chlorine gas

The price difference is around $5,000-7,000. It seems for that much you could just add a 12v system for $1,500-1,700 from PressureTek or another place and come out way ahead. Also, BCE soft wash systems aren’t 12v but you might already know that.

All that said, I understand the need for buying a turn-key set-up due to time constraints.

Same here, I paid $3500 for a Honda 5.5/3500 last year, could have built my own for about $2700. It was turn-key so I just paid the extra.

all I’m hearing is excuses, dedicate a few hours in the evening building a rig and save 12-13k, start ups takes effort. I bet you’d find time if you priced a 12-13k job and landed it, life would be put on hold to do it, wouldn’t it?

It’s not about the cost, that is irrelevant unless it’s coming out of your pocket. The equipment in the package is substandard

Well then we have another issue substandard and expensive lol

Thomas,
I’m familiar with all of that equipment except for the automated refill. Let’s break it down roughly

Trailer $2800
Ladder rack 500
Machine 6700
soft wash skid mounted on SS frame $3000
Proportioner $600
500 gal tank with alum brackets - 650
Misc other tanks $500
Reels 600
Hoses 500
Misc fittings, hardware, hose, etc 500

All of this adds up to about $16,350. It’s at least a full days work for a couple of guys if you’ve got everything you need sitting right there. So for the price and not having to go thru the aggravation, not a bad deal.

However a few points on the equipment
Reels - that shelf not wide enough for what you need configured like you need the way they have configured. Need at least a 18" water reel, 200-250’ min of hose. You can live with 12" on pressure, so you could stack 2 of those
Need a 18" with 250’ of softwash hose. so you could stack 2 of those, one for water with your soft wash hose. So shelf will work, just not like they have. The reels themselves, I would upgrade the reels, since you’re going to be using bleach and acids.

25 gal bleach tank not enough
You don’t need a separate mix tank now for the roof machine, you can get a high flow proportioner that will work with the gas operated machines, so all you need is SH and Soap tanks along with the water. Unless you’re doing a lot of big roofs not sure I’d get the gas one, though you could use for other purposes, ie soaping or rinsing. But 12v will do 95% of what you need.

I don’t particularly like the wire mesh on the sides, harder to access a lot of things and just something else to rust

Machine itself is good, but unless you really need 2 operator version, just get the single. If you need or want to see any of this stuff, I’m just up the road in Greenville
