Getting rid of the ball valve!

Test both at 2500 psi using a bucket and tell us the flow differential in 30 seconds in gpm.

Donā€™t change anything. Hose should have male end leading.

Oh? Currently I have one female QC on the ball valve, male on everything else. Saves replacing orings on two guns and two SCā€™s?

All the guns over here Iā€™ve seen have a male QC sent with them, and my 20ā€ SC has a male QC from the factory - but I should swap all these out for females?

I plumb my guns to be effecient, cost effective and easy to use. It is cheaper to put in be female quick connect on the discharge side and cheap make plugs on all the accessories. Friction loss, and every garden hose and fire hose in the known world lead with the male end because it flows more water and is not as unlickly to unhook itself.

Ahhh I give up with it. Iā€™ll buy a new, light ball valve.

Cheers!

@Racer

Can you link me to your ā€œsexyā€ ball valve please?

This beast I have is heavy! I also replaced the handle with a much longer one asnits hard to open and closeā€¦

Donā€™t give up. The pic of the gun you posted is perfect. Nirvana. Donā€™t change it

I canā€™t figure a way to connect to my SC though. Itā€™s has a 3/8 inlet, and a 3/8 male coming out. So it wonā€™t fit the gunā€¦

Thatā€™s why I was going to female the end of the hose, and male the inlet side of the gun. It would then connect to both.

BUT Iā€™d have to walk back, shut off the machine, walk to the SC - connect the SC, walk back and start the machine - and the same to switch back!

So thatā€™s a non-starter.

A 50cl cent bushing will solve the 3/8 to 1/4 problem. An hour of tinkering on the surface cleaner will solve that problem. I would honestly quit this business if I had to use a ball valve.

What business would you go into to?

Especially if you had mineā€¦!

Iā€™ll tinker.

Iā€™ve promised myself and my wife Iā€™m going to barber school when I turn fifty and open up a barber shop. Thatā€™s only a year away and it really seems scary to think about now

That would be sweet retirement gig. Something to wake up to and socialize and make a few bucks while your at it

I had a tinker, I think I will do it your way, seems all my fittings are reversed to yours! When you click a lance into the female gun QC, there is a wobble up and down, does this go away under pressure?

Iā€™ll need to wait until tomorrow to get a female thread male QC to go on the swivel at the hose. I donā€™t have those laying around.

Someone mentioned it previously, but thereā€™s a big difference if I reduce to 1/4 from 3/8 at the SC. I took a pic of the brass fittings I have - it might just be those type?

I did manage to fit a rotating vice to the trailer though - been meaning to do that for ages!

Nice boat anchor, lol.

What size surface cleaner you running?

Yep, itā€™s definitely that!

I have three, 12ā€, 16ā€ and a 20ā€

People must do it @Racer  (not me!)

@Innocentbystander damage does in fact occur with ball valve rinsing :+1:t2:

I canā€™t find anyone to ship me a sexy/tiny ball valve like thisā€¦

Donā€™t understand, must do what?

Drag the ball valve along the floorā€¦

LOL, lots of people do lots of stupid things. My goal is to try not to do more than 4-5 per day.
