The real gallee - #27 by dperez

I’m like a month too late. Not only do you have nice hair you answer questions before they’re asked.

I usually use the copper but I’ve never seen the copper with the graphite. I have some gray on the shelf that I’ve had from way back. I did learn a neat trick to where I used some of it up. I had a tire that was leaking around the bead. No matter how much I cleaned the aluminum rim and tire bead it just kept leaking. The aluminum was just all galled up. I read somewhere to coat it with anti-seize so I gave it a shot. It worked like a charm and the tire has held air going on two year. I think they sell an actual tire bead sealant but have never seen what the substance actually looks like. It might do the same thing.

Mine kept backing out even with those stripped lock washers… Blue loctite is removable, just helps with vibration… and yes they where torqued correctly

I’m not sure what I’m doing right, I don’t even use a torque wrench never had any loose bolts or stripped threads from tightening. Well thought out skid dampening would probably solve your problem.

I ran out and bought anti-seize. I wanted to be able to get the pump off if I need to. @marinegrunt @MuscleMyHustle @Chesebro @dperez thanks for your help.
I’m getting there slowly. My trailer is ready for the season the truck bed is just extra. I wanted an 8 gpm and didn’t have room in the trailer.

Where’s the buffer tank?

@dcbrock The 65 against the cab. It’s an old buffer I had. The smaller 25 is for my 12v. I don’t do roofs just use it for concrete and such.

Wow, that’s a 65? I need new glasses.

That’s what she said…

I was gonna do 12x2s or 6x2s but they were way too heavy. The deck boards worked well so far.

What size bed is that on the truck?

Eight

That 65 will last you all of 8 min with that machine unless you’re like IBS and hook up to hydrants every job. But I guess if you get a house with 5gpm flow that will give you about 20min.

I had a 4 and 5.5 on the 65 gallon buffer. I only had a few houses where it was a problem running them together. Plus I already had in my yard. Lol

Big difference between that 5.5 and that 8. I had a 65 gallon for my 5.5 and it rarely ever budged off full. Went to a 100 gallon with the 8 and I’ve ran it dry several times. So I have to agree with Rick. Good luck though.

I know it will be a problem once in a while but it wasn’t that bad running 9.5 gpm (4gpm & 5.5gpm) with a 65. I went to a 125 and had almost zero issues. I still have my 4 and 5.5 in the trailer to fall back on.

I wonder if a low water sensor can be installed somehow. My 5.5 never gets close but I did run it down to about 10 gallons on a weak spigot last year. Caught it just in time.
