What’s the best chemical to clean the underside of gas station canopies?( over the pumps)

Depends on what’s Under the canopies ?? The gas pumps have alum or stainless on the sides of them ? You going to clen the concrete also?

Not cleaning the concrete on this one. Just the canopy sides and underside. Has black stuff on it. Probly exhaust stains and mold.

I used bd-200 from south side eqpt… … Thare are a lot of variables … Are you going to do it when is open in the day time? Or you going to do it when it’s closed at night… If you do it in the day time I would use the bd-200 for sure don’t want to bleach someone… The bd-200 will get the black streaks off… Spraying bleach is not that great at a gas station for many reason… Best thing for you to do is call Russ and ask him… You can call me if you like I will explain more…

I’m gonna be doing this job at night after they close. I was thinking I might need to use a truck wash or degreaser to clean it. U think bleach will clean it?

You can go like you are thinking with a non caustic butyl degreaser like our Mighty Max or a safe finish truck wash again with no caustic like our White or Blue Lightning. You won’t have to worry about them removing any oxidized paint, or any aluminum it might drip down on. Mighty Max is safe with bleach if you want to add a small amount to kill the mold but it does well on molds and mildews on it’s own.

I did a very dirty one last month and just used a strong house wash. There were a couple of spots I had to hit twice but it went really fast. Thank goodness it was a slow night because it is a 24 hour store. Four cars in three hours and they were all Highway patrolmen.

Good deal. I was thinking a strong HW mix would work or a good degreaser. Did u have to cover the pumps?

I covered pump screen and keypad to be safe. Took a little extra time but I didn’t want to have to pay if I messed it up.

Got an update. I washed my first canopy Monday night. I downstreamed degreaser first and that got a little of the stuff off. But them I put a strong house wash mix on it and that got everything clean. Probably gonna use the HW mix first next time.
