This simplay box is awesome, it goes to 3 different heights and holds over 250 pounds of fat guy while sanding rails. I also use it in my garden while weeding. It will take on some water if left in your garden for a month or so. They do have a drain hole with plug, but I figure as soon as I remove it the box will break. I treat mine poorly, has lasted 3 years so far. Think it was like 25 bucks. I’ll include a link to the site but it is higher there
How do you recommend doing that?
Here is the grease nipple on the reel:
Buy a grease gun and squirt grease into that nipple. I think hannay recommends doing it every 6 months or something like that.
Thank you
Never ever use the grease gun on a Super swivel. Seems counterintuitive I know. If you push in grease and disturb the seal it has made it will leak forever. Never give it grease and it will last 2 or 3 years.
As a newbie, the most gamechanging things I bought were hose reels and pressure/garden hose. Those two things made my set up/tear down times 1/30th what they were before.
So the squeaking is just part of the game?
It will quit in a couple of months, or it won’t.
Reminds me of every air compressor I’ve ever had, change the oil and pops a year later. Leave the oil and lasts forever.
Absolutely. My compressor fell over in the flood a few years back and got water in thru the breather cap. I figured it would spit or what it didn’t want because I didn’t want to jinx it by changing the oil. It’s still running strong
I think that is absolute crap. You buy the top of the line product, ignore the manufacturer recommendated maintenance, and advise people to throw them out after 2-3 years???
What am I missing?
I bet Hannay would disagree.
It’s not a Hannay part. Not sure why you are upset. It’s a $45 part that lasts for multiple years. I don’t care if you grease it, it will just last longer of you don’t.
Oh, I understand now, you didn’t mean to replace the whole reel every few years just the bearing when it wears out?
Were you ever pushing in the ball bearing on the zerk fitting to allow the excess grease
and air to escape? That may be the issue you are having. I dunno though I always tossed the Super Swivels I run brass J.E. Adams 7475’s
I replace the swivel, not the bearing. There is no zerk on the bearings.
About 20 years experience using.
For me, it was this.
Among other things of course, like the stainless GP injector you guys recommended.
Is that for your remote DS? Isn’t 1" kinda big? @dcbrock
…thats what she said ;>)
