The wife won a Turkey from a raffle at school… already have Thanksgiving meal planned and bought. Cant waste a perfectly good turkey so it gave me excuse to buy a burner (should have had one already) cause she wants the second turkey fried.
@Ikii@SchertzServicesLLC@Hotshot@Innocentbystander one of yall has to have a clue about frying a turkey, maybe someone else out there. Ive been reading, but trying to get any help i can so it doesnt suck.
Think i will inject w/ butter&seasoning and put a good seasoning on outside?
Fill the pot with water first and put the turkey in. Water should cover the turkey about an inch. Mark the pot, dump the water, full with oil to your mark. 350 degrees, 3.5 minutes per pound. Use a broom stick and to people to lower turkey so you aren’t standing over it. I like the Cajun injector stuff from tractor supply.
Just inject were directions say on bottle, no need to do anything else. It will hold up to a 22lb bird. Either way, propane or electric ,frying is where it’s at baby.
I smoke about 3-5 turkeys this time of year. I used to fry some. What IBS said is a good idea. Make sure it’s fully thawed! It takes days to thaw a turkey in the fridge. My two 23 pound birds hit the fridge on Saturday morning.
If you are smoking or frying you can’t beat this injectable marinade. Comes with a needle. Shoot it into that bad boy all over a hour before it goes in the fryer. You can’t beat it. People come running for my turkey!
I’ve never actually seen this for sale at Walmart but hy-vee always has it.
As soon as I saw the picture of your fryer I had that olfactory smell hit me of steam turkey. The steamy fumes off that thing permeate the house for a week! Sooo worth it
