Flexzilla supply hose and mold

Those are just to keep them from slipping side to side. I’ve had a couple fail when I untwist them, but never static.

But I’ve thought about that. There’s another one in the middle holding it down and a cable lock on the back.

Two questions. Where can one buy such a fabulous hose? And is there a recommendation for a less expensive hose reel for the incoming water? One less expensive than the high pressure reels.

TSC sells it. 5/8" usually stocked in-store, 3/4" online. Russ at Southside Equipment sells it too.

This is a pretty good alternative for a supply reel… i use one. I know of quite a few other guys that use them as well.

Some reports of swivel leaking after a while, but you can buy a replacement for like $15 and it is an upgraded version of what it ships with.

I used that reel briefly early on… briefly because it corroded into pieces. I found a couple of used reelcraft reels on craigslist that I used and they lasted quite a bit longer. I paid $75 for both of them.

@John_Martinez call around to a couple pesticide or lawn spraying companies and ask if they have old reels they’d let go of for cheap. That’s where the reelcrafts I found on craigslist came from.

Or spend $200 on reels you’ll have for a decade or more.

I get flexzilla at Menards. Amazon has it. Home Depot probably has it now.

I have no idea how you have so much time to do everything you say you do.
For me must be that when I come home it’s ‘daddy’s home!’ Which means no garage time for me :frowning:

When do you do your stuff, after work or do you have a day set aside every week to take care of office and shop stuff?

I live and die by checklists man. As far as the maintenance, I’m basically off except for this webstore so I put 2 days on the calendar to wrap things up for winter on the trailer.

You don’t wanna be inside my head. It’s a million thoughts a minute and it’s probably not healthy so if I don’t get it all out of my head and on paper you may as well put me in an asylum.

It helps that I can’t sit still. I’m moving non stop.

It makes Emma crazy, but she says my motto is “it’ll only take 30 minutes.” So I do something for 30 minutes… then I do something else for 30 minutes.

Its probably not healthy.

I don’t have kids either. I’m at my desk now. Making lists.

These are all notebooks and planners that are full. I’m probably bat dump crazy…

Do you winterize when you wrap up for the year or on a daily business expecting more business? The reason why I’m asking is my last job was last Wednesday and haven’t had a call since. I haven’t winterized yet but will this weekend. When do you shut down for the winter? I’m guessing my calls have stopped due to 1) Cold weather 2) Christmas Decorations are up and people don’t want to wash with decorations up and 3) I’ve only been around for a year and 2 months and so i’m still small potatoes.

Good stuff, yes lists, super helpful, I gotta start making lists again. It also helps unwind the thoughts and put them on a linear schedule

I was going to say I don’t know how you so it Rowdy but then realized you are my kids age and I did it all back then too. I’m so freaking tired most nights it’s all I can do to open up the Maker’s. I end up doing stuff in the morning when I have recharged but by then I need to get on the job site…vicious cycle.

I shut down right before thanksgiving and am finished until mid Jan - early Feb. The checklist you see above is end of the year winterizing. If it’s going to freeze I just get all the water out of the hoses, run RV antifreeze through the pump via the dump fitting on the tank, and wrap the pump in an old blanket. 10-15 minutes max.

If it didn’t get marked off the list or at least progress made, it’ll keep me up at night.

We’ll that’s what my wife’s uncle does, he gets his paperwork done in the morning then goes to work. I’m kinda switching my schedule like that because my guys work till late every night so they can’t get up early

I’m militaristic with my time too. @MDA1775 knows what I’m talking about. If I put something on the calendar at 7:30 am and I’m not ready to roll on it by 7:25 I feel like I’m already behind.

Thanks, Since its cold will the SH last for a few months?

It’d probably last a few months if it was 70 degrees everyday. I think the decomposition of the SH due to heat is kinda over exaggerated unless it’s sitting stagnant where there’s not airflow and it’s 90 degrees. Humidity is probably a bigger concern. Then you’ve gotta deal with heat and moisture. Oh… and UV. That’s the biggest deal I think.

Funny thing is I am no longer a slave to the clock, drives my wife nuts. I used to harangue her about being early to everything when I was in. I just refuse to do it anymore, the exception is an appointment or something to that effect but if it’s my time I just don’t get too concerned, of course then I get frustrated with myself.
