First Driveway Please Help!

Only about 1 out of 200 do I post treat with anything stronger than my standard HW mix which is probably about a .7%

New tips got me at 2600 psi now, which should be good now

If your lines are from not cleaning good enough (going too fast), then lowering your pressure is just going to make it worse for you. Trust me, I tried several times to use the 25 tips because you hear 2500 is enough, but with only 4 gpm, you’ll be happier with the 20 tips and closer to 3000. Try it out for yourself, but I think you’ll be switching back.

I was at 3500 psi with the 25020 tips & that’s way too much, eventually I’ll be etching someone’s concrete and that’s not worth it @Nickski

I will just slow down, and go over it twice on the next driveway I do …. Going vertical direction then going back over horizontal and add a post treatment. 2600 psi should then be good hopefully. We will see. I’ll keep you and @Racer updated

Just curious, what motor is on your machine? My GX390 will not get me to 3500 psi at the gun. If you can get 2600 with 25 tips and 3500 with 20s, that’s impressive for a 4/4000 machine.

Honda GX390, I thought that was odd too but that’s what the pressure gauge said

At the gun, not right off the machine, right?

Correct, at the gun!

The gun was 2600 psi with the 25025 tips in SC

He’s only running 50’ of hose. About what he should be getting. Only losing about 50psi to friction loss.

If it’s fairly dirty, go over twice, back and forth. If like the one you did, one fairly slow pass should be fine.
you don’t need to go different directions. Pre-treat with your normal HW mix, and post treat with same unless a lot of embedded mildew.

And you still need to get the right tips.

I ordered those, just waiting and using other ones temporarily

lol, a strong pre treat did most of the work

Based on the picture,I say you etched the concrete.

Make sure your Meg nozzles are 25 degree spray pattern.

I usually hit concrete at about 1800-2000 PSI @ 6gpm

What GPM are you running?

4gpm 25025 nozzles 2600 psi

I didn’t think 2600 psi would be too much.

Is that still too much? What do you recommend doing, getting 25030 nozzles? @Chesebro

Sorry for the concrete I used 25020 nozzles and was getting like 3500-3600 psi so that may have been why. But I recently got 25025 nozzles and i am now getting 2600 psi. I have seen plenty of people say 2500-2600 psi is good for concrete.

Have you gone back to check if that concrete is etched or just dirty yet? That will help with this whole nozzle dilemma. Also, how far are your nozzles from the concrete?
