Downstreaming a Dirty House or Property

There’s a fine art to cleaning those.
And I have yet to completely figure it out.

You gotta work backwards when soaping, forward when rinsing. And use a narrow fan nozzle (I’m partial to 5°) so you can stand back further from the business end. I still end up taking a bleach shower every now and then from poor planning, but I don’t usually get soaked through.

I haven’t done a before and after since the turn off this century, and I guess I still haven’t lol. I forgot to take after pics but I’ll be back tomorrow.

Safe to assume that one’s not on your “2x a year” plan?..

Oh man thats gonna be some good pictures !

The color choice on the siding sure is interesting. Are they replacing it 1/3 at a time?

Exterior in spring. Breezeways in the fall. That’s typical for a year. This company just about 15 properties of the exact same style and color combo. Only difference in washing most of them is the city they are in. This one has 25 buildings and two clubhouses. Three guys today and I just sent them home to start another property tomorrow. I got 5 buildings for tomorrow and some garages. Long day, but then I’m taking the rest of the week of.

This is poetry! …I also tend to stay pretty dry when it comes to porch ceilings. I hit the spots that I can’t get to from the “dry zone” first & get the heck outta there asap to handle the rest. Doesn’t matter where I stand when it comes to 2nd & 3rd story gutters & soffits, the wind always makes sure it ends up in my face.

Second job yesterday.

iGX700 with Udor gear drive 8gpm

2.1 DS (gp kynar/stainless without any proportioning tip)

FlowPro.Solutions remote downstream bypass for full flow when rinsing. (Machine puts out 9+ gpm without the restriction of the DS!)

Bleach is leftover from last fall. Took a second coat for most of the siding that was this bad, and 3 or 4 spot treatments for the aluminum fascia. Single treatment for the cleaner sides.

Yep, same here. 5 deg tip, walk backwards. By the time you let it dwell, it’s done dripping, then repeat to rinse. I get occasional drops on my head, but not much.

I solved that issue after about the second time drips went down my polo, I wear a hat when I do porches now. A boonie cap that I don’t care if it gets bleached 62 different shades. Plus it is good for the sun portection too.

What is even worse are cleaning those basement stairs that have overhead (normally concrete) that has molded on all 6 sides. That is shower time for sure. THey tend to be narrow in my area. I tried using a lance to keep me away and wide fan to keep the splatter down, but in the end I found a raincoat, rainpants, and knock off mucks with a hat let me lite er up and git er done (instead of dancing around). If I had a helper that would be their gig.

That is the worst.

@qons @Nickski @Dirtyboy and a few others = Off topic - trying to make this a resource page so when so genius on Fb says you got to have this or that or you can’t wash something dirty, you can just link this thread.

Nice William, that’s pretty.

So this 5 degree tip, are you guys just using that and a shooter for soaping? I’ve been using a 25 degree but it only gets so high up.
