DIY X-jet

For that gun yes, we run a trombone nozzle to swap meg tips if we didn’t we would be rinsing around 1100 psi which is to low for us. As for swapping tips on the Hydrochem gun? No, Hydrochem gun applies chems at 1000 psi and rinses at 22,2400 psi. Thats what im trying to achieve. That gun was $225 ,Hydrochems gun is $2000. I’ll get there lol. I need 4 :pensive:

Ok, so what I was suggesting should accomplish the same thing. Just eliminate the bypass loop, and put the 3 way soap ballvalve in the middle position to shut off both soaps and then use your trombone nozzle doohicky to switch to high pressure rinse. Hope that makes a little bit of sense?

You should be able to push 1800 psi through that injector no problem, and flow loss should be negligible. Would reduce the weight of the gun significantly.

I think im following you @Infinity , Only problem is if its not in bypass it will blow the guts out of the injector (Ball and spring) and Oring on the 2 way soap valve at the handle and eventually starts back feeding to chem tanks.

I wonder what makes it different from a regular injector that most people don’t bother bypassing? They all go bad eventually, but blowing out the check ball and spring like that is fairly rare.

Maybe because its 1/4 " and not built tough enough :man_shrugging: .
I’ll take a pic today of the injector size, Im pretty sure its a 2.8.
Hydrochem and Bioclean has it figured out to make a reliable gun. These fellas not so much.

Nice. Glad it worked!

Hey DantheWindowMan this is very cool. I have a few questions regarding the GP. Can you run any chemicals through the GP such as sodium hypochlorite and elemonator? Also, are you using a jrod in replace of a X-jet nozzle? I’m thinking of making my own since a X-jet is pretty pricy.

Yes it pulls SH and elemonator, it functions just as an injector would, except it is far more concentrated. And yes I use a jrod instead of the xjet nozzle, I see no need for it personally.

Thanks for the response. I’m sure you are able to downstream with as well and just use a different tip on the Jrod is that right? I ordered the parts you uploaded I’m hoping it works like yours does.

Just be aware that it doesn’t work with the high pressure tips (which I never use anyway) there is too much back pressure, however it works like a champ with the shooter tip and the soap tips, I just pull the draw hose off the barb when I want to rinse.
