DIY X-jet

Yeah all of my equipment is winterized and stored away lol. I’m in Windsor. About 4 hours south of Toronto bordering Detroit.

So you went to the trouble of building this thing, posting about it and now none of us are going to know whether it even works till whenever you guys warm up. Sheesh! Like a bad ending to a movie, where you’re left hanging.

Ship the darn thing down here, I’ll try it, just to know if it works.

Sorry bro! I had to build it now, could only get my hands on a GP high draw injector while I was in Florida. Otherwise, would have waited till Spring.

I don’t have the convenience of @anon37135677 living just across the border.

Should have just called @Innocentbystander or myself. One of us would have mailed you one. We’ve probably got 25 laying around if you didn’t need working guts. Just threw away a couple the other day.

I know I am dragging this out, Canadian Winters, sheesh.

But, I managed to get a TOST now, so I am hoping I can now handle aggregate 3-4 story jobs.

Haven’t got to test anything yet, just now de-winterizing my rig.

What does that mean? BTW it got up to 17°C here today, I’ve had everything on the truck for a week or so. Hoping the good weather sticks around.

The Original Shooter Tip. Ya, I had plus 15 today. Just been so busy with window cleaning, I haven’t had time for the spring tune-up for my PW.

But, the phone has started ringing…

Good to hear! Now get yourself one of them 6ft lances from princess Auto and you should be able to reach anything… :joy:

In all honesty I do have one on the truck though. It’s good for awnings and has it’s uses at times lol

Alright here it is:

I didn’t have time to do a draw rate test, but it is definitely pulling way more than my DSI

Wouldn’t be surprised if it works almost the exact same.

Did you ever test this to see how much it’s drawing and how long your hose can be? Nice experiment.

Alright, so I have 50 feet of hose 1/4" and I ditched the ball valve. Can only use soap tips for soaping and rinsing, without the guts in the high draw, you can’t use any high pressure without backflow out the injector. That’s fine. I am doing a stucco job on Monday, will report.

Looking forward to the report. Seems interesting and a cost effective alternative if it works.

I will probably get to caught up in getting the job done to take time to measure. It’s a full day as usual. But, I should at least be able to get some good before and after shots.

Understood. Seems like a good way to repurpose an old injector…and save quite a bit of money on an xjet if it works well.

Looking forward to the results. I was thinking the same thing over the weekend.

Did this house using a 25’ draw tube.
Worked perfectly.

I think it is just as effective.
