DIY Belt-driven Builds?

Theres steel there, take a look.

Yeah ,but more aluminum , We can read just fine @Redjess.:joy:…Aluminum is good for soda pop cans and alike. Not a 5.5 or an 8gpm set up

While mostly true, not all aluminum is weak, but then again who would make a skid mount with that stuff.

I agree. All the trailers I wash.Dump, flat, grain, belly dumps, end dumps etc are all aluminum ,but way thicker than steel , but lighter. But they all stress crack and need constant attention.

Got it. All steel, buy the good stuff. I’m going to start my build in the next month (just in time for the season to die down), but definitely taking it to heart what all of the OG’s on here are saying. Buy good stuff, have fewer headaches. So now I’m looking at 8gpm belt drive udor, gx690 (tempted to get a predator but I’ll spend the extra $400), tandem axle trailer with 100gal buffer. Our taps are a solid 5gpm here, and I suppose I’ll just tell people on wells I’m unable to service them. . .

Also, IBS, once I’ve added up all the parts and pieces I’m definitely going to call your guy Diego and see what I’d save building my own. If it’s less than $1k I’ll let them handle it, but I love building stuff and won’t mind spending the winter in my shop putting it all together…

The Honda is more than $400 more. You have to add muffler and gas tank the Predator comes with. I’d guess $1600-$1800 total?

$4200 and and no headaches

Just get a big 300 gallon extra tote for the well jobs, there like $50 bucks used. Easy to take off trailer if you don’t use it often

If that is 1000 gallons of water, and assuming the trailer and equipment weigh more than 1660 pounds, you need a class A cdl. That’s a lot of headache for a housewash on a well

That be 1400 gallon if they were all filled up On The 2nd pic,500 Gallon On The First pic ,on a 7000 lb trailer, :joy:.I was born at night, not last night, But I picked the totes up in Missouri at @ $40 a piece( EMPTY) a couple years ago to stage 1 at a time at different clients parking lots to use as an on site buffer, so I don’t have to tote water. Just wanted him to see what they looked like if he hasn’t is all,@Innocentbystander is right, don’t haul that much water please.

Yep, unless your just rolling in business, not a good enough reason to turn down well jobs if you got room for a tote. Unless its a big house, lol.

When I said “that stuff”, I meant the good aluminum stuff, but as youve said before the corrosion still makes the aluminum subpar. So nothing but steel folks!

Aww,memories lol. We had no clue what we were doing in the beginning as I look at them pics, I used to have the wife hold the gun open to not burn the pump down as I brushed the entire truck, had no idea or education of bypassing it back to the buffer,we thought a buffer tank was to just draw out of. Let alone what a good soap was. Took us forever… Now the wife is @ home taking care of the books and what nots full time. I kinda miss those days and really kinda not :joy:… So my advice to the new fellas is to find a good reputable/ local PW shop, like @Innocentbystander has or alike. Anybody can sell you a machine. But there are very few that can sell you the right machine and tell you how to set it up and run it properly to avoid trial and error, which we all know is costly, especially in the beginning when funds are low. This Forum has taught me everything I need to know, and still learning everyday. I WISH I knew the PWRA existed back 3 years ago when we first took flight. Anywho ,that’s my 2 cents

I think when the Grump retire’s and his gun has taken its last squirt, He should open up a PW shop. WAPW INC. (Walk Away Power Washing Incorporated ).

And real shoes are required, NO CROCS, All others come in, sit down and take a number, And have a complementary Cherry wine outta the ice box, if your wearing liberty overalls ,have 2 cherry wines…I might sell ya a real machine,I might not sell you squat, depending on your behavior,Advice is always free.Rub the UDOR on the way out for luck…
