:joy::joy::joy: !!! Your Killin me.

But on a serious note. There’s alot of good information up there. Neat stuff fellas.need to book mark the whole dang post. Lol

I tested both valves with a 9v battery. The first one only closed when I reversed polarity. The auto return closed when I lifted the wires.

Do you have the two wire reverse polarity valve or did you test on the 5 wire valve and the 2 wire auto return valve? The one with green and red wire is the reverse polarity valve. The 2 wire auto return has blue and yellow wires.

I wonder what the point is of all the components on the circuit board if you need an external hard wired switch to control the valve? I wouldn’t think it would need all that just to sense the micro switches to know when it’s fully open or closed? I don’t know squat about circuit boards but you would think there are ways to have power, and loss there of, to signal something to reverse polarity of the motor. A few relays, transformers, or diodes? With everything they can do nowadays you wouldn’t think it would be outside the realm of things.Circuit boards are cheap to make too.

It makes me wonder because Anthony’s @Firefighter4hire did not automatically close when he removed power so it makes me think he has the two wire reverse polarity valve that doesn’t consume power when open.

Just to add to the conversation on the backside of the instructions they say that the valves can be powered continuously without risk of overheating. Maybe the auto return won’t get hot enough to where it would cause failure. It’s not like it’s open for long. It also says that if you have the auto return and power goes out it will return to the closed position. All other models they will stay in current position if power goes out. (That’s kind of why I think Anthony may have the two wire reverse polarity and his seems to be working with a remote)

I’m just thinking out loud more than anything and honestly have no idea about any of it. It’s just interesting and I enjoy stuff like this. It makes me want to mess with my two wire reverse polarity just to see though. I like knowing useless crap even if I’ll never need it.

I initially bought the reverse polarity, soon realized it wouldn’t work so it got returned and got the auto return. Works perfectly with my basic on-off remote control.
